Baymont by Wyndham Houston Intercontinental Airport

The hotel room had a weird odor and we had to kill a cockroach that was climbing on the wall of our room which was super disgusting and if there is one you know there are many more. Pillows are not comfortable and the staff was not very friendly. We will never stay at a Best Western Hotel again!

First let me say, the staff are incredible, kind, thorough and accomodating. The building is not. The lobby smells like febreeze has exploded in there. The rooms smell VERY musty. Old, tired. New LVP slapped on top of existing issues. If you have any allergies, DO NOT stay here. Extremely disappointing as part of Best Western brand who are usually reliably known for quailty at a reasonable price.

We were disappointed with this hotel. They offer a shuttle service that did not deliver, after waiting 50 minutes for the shuttle after landing at the airport we ended up taking a taxi. $25 plus tip. Room was clean but very strong smell of cleaning agent. Comfortable bed.

We approached apprehensively; in this very tight space there were three low to midrange hotels and a Waffle House. We were created warmly, checked in quickly, and off to our room. AC was icy, room clean and mostly comfortable. Mattress a little firm but I sleep on a soft bed normally. It’s an updated property with sink outside of bathroom which is fine with me—not a fan of steamy bathrooms while getting ready. For a hotel sandwiched between an interstate and airport it’s extremely quiet. Rested well and would go back.

This was one od the worst experiences we have ever had in a hotel. Floors had not been cleaned in the hallway or our room. The sink drain closure didnt work. There was long black hair on the toilet tank. The entire room smelled like mold or mildew. We felt that rhe room had some sort of water damage that covered up and not cleaned. We found mold or mildew on the painting and frame in the room and on the floor next to the bed. The bedding felt damp, there was dirt on one of the bedspreads. The man at the front desk seemed not concerned about us wanting a different room...he showed us an alternate room which smelled strongly of smoke. We got up extra early and couldnt wait to leave. Another couple who stayed also complained that their room smelled bad, and that they could hear the TV playing loudly in the lobby. We all left very early and wouldnt recommend this place.

We had made a reservation several months ago. When we arrived to check in on Saturday, July 13, 2024 the extremely flippant person at the reception desk said with wide eyes and a surprised look, “we don’t have any rooms”. Upon looking up our reservation said person continued with “yep, we cancelled that reservation and tried to call you”. After I let the person know I had not received a phone call or email, the person said “oh, we don’t have your contact information” (I am a rewards member with my contact information permanently with the company). Unfortunately, I will not be using Best Western again after this experience.
