We stayed at the Baron Sahl Hasheesh Hotel as a family of four, with two young kids aged 2 and 4. The hotel itself is stunning, surrounded by lush green gardens that create a peaceful atmosphere. The kids club and swimming pool is well done. However, our experience was marred by several issues.Firstly, the food was just okay, with limited options unless you booked the restaurants upon arrival. The service was the biggest letdown: when queuing for food or ice cream, our waiter would often be interrupted by another staff member who needed to serve someone else quickly. It felt like there was a parallel service in place where certain guests were given preferential treatment, making the experience even more frustrating. Unfortunately, the staff seemed overwhelmed and unprofessional, which only added to our frustration. Our room was outdated, and housekeeping was lacking. At the spa, we noticed that the masseuse reused towels for different guests, which was concerning. Patience is definitely required here, as we often found ourselves waiting a long time for simple asks (coffee pot or a drink). On one occasion, the main restaurant was completely full, and we ended up finding and cleaning our own table and searching for glasses and cutlery. It was clear that the hotel was at full capacity, and while we felt sympathy for the staff, it didn’t excuse the poor service we received. Having visited Hurghada multiple times and staying at places like Steigenberger Aldau and Rixos Magawish, we were disappointed with our experience here. If you can get a good deal, it might be worth considering, but be prepared for frustrations, especially if you’re paying top dollar.
