This lodge complex is just outside the Hwange National Park, in a private concession that gave us an amazing experience of the wildlife all around. The elephants came right up to the wire fence, and we had a great view of many other passing animals. The guides were very experienced and they used their knowledge to track and locate the best animal sightings each day. We saw elephants, impalas and buffaloes in their hundreds, baboons and vervets, Kudus, painted dogs, zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, birds of many kinds including secretary birds, the list goes on. The food was of a good standard and the lodges while basic were comfortable but we were not in them for long because there was so much to do elsewhere in the area (all organised by the lodge staff). The service was second to none and always with a big smile.

We had an absolutely amazing stay at Ivory Lodge Safari! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Raphael – and even more memorably, by a herd of elephants right at the lodge! The accommodation was beautiful, blending comfort and nature perfectly. We were so well looked after – with six eating opportunities a day, we were never hungry! Every meal was delicious, and the drink selection was excellent, with something for every taste. A special mention must go to our safari guide, Patrick – he was everything you could hope for in a guide: knowledgeable, patient, passionate, and truly made each game drive unforgettable. We left with incredible memories and a deep appreciation for Hwange. Highly recommend!

Wonderful and friendly staff! We loved the bungalows and their view over the waterhole. Very confortable and close to nature at the same time. Good food, good wine. But the best of the best was our ranger : we are deeply grateful to Zeb and hope to be back soon (the sooner the better) ! Huge thanks to all the staff who took such good care of us and our son !

Another outstanding visit to Ivory Lodge. The courtesy and responsiveness of the staff is without equal. Great game drives. The watering hole just outside the rooms brought an abundance of wildlife. Bathrooms in the rooms could use a bit of updating and wifi in the rooms would be nice. But really very little to complain or worry. This was my 4th visit over the last 25yrs and will definitely come again.

Der Empfang war sehr unpersönlich, sehr formal Die Unterkünfte werden gerade erneuert.. das schaut sehr gut aus guter Wille, na da hapert es noch etwas aus der Sicht des Gastes mit der Praktikabilität.. Der an sich tolle Hide ist inzwischen nicht mehr das absolute Higlight, denn in der Umgebung gibts inzwischen viele Wasserlöcher, zu denen die Tiere einfacher gelangen, trotzdem ein toller Ort zum Genießen, der Hide wurde bei der Begrüßung auch nicht erwähnt, Kommentar s.u. Personal.. Gefühl für Gäste Das Personal ... na ja wie soll man sagen... Eigeninitiative ist nicht erwünscht, oder die Erfahrung fehlt.. es wird nach einem Essensgang sehr aufwendig und penibel abgeräumt und in die Küche retourniert, aber der Gast wartet eine gefühlte halbe Stunde auf den nächsten Gang.. und das bei 6 Gästen im Raum.

Lodge agréable, facile d'accès, entouré d'animaux
Très beau lodge avec de grandes chambres individuelles sur pilotis dotées de balcon donnant sur le point d'eau où viennent boire de nombreux animaux (éléphants, antilopes, zèbres, phacochères ...)
Excellents pisteurs attachés au lodge, ce qui nous a permis le soir de notre arrivée d'approcher un lion et deux lionnes à quelques mètres et de voir beaucoup d'animaux.
Très bonne cuisine, savoureuse et avec un grand soin d'hygiène, avec une chef attachée au lodge

A real gem hidden in the bush. You will be beyond surprised when you arrive at Ivory Lodge. From the amazing thatch lounge that looks onto the watering hole to the friendly staff that give it its homely feel. My room overlooked elephant and buck at the watering hole on arrival. A short walk to the viewing deck took me the closest I have ever been to an elephant. Bring a camera as game is abundant. Sipping G&T’s with Khulu and the team a real highlight.Highly recommend.
