Santi Garden Bungalows

Lamentablemente tengo que dejar una mala reseña sobre este alojamiento, el bungalow es muy basico, dice con vista al mar pero la vista es minimalista y casi ni se ve el mar. Estuvimos dos noches escuchando las ratas caminando por el techo y entrando y saliendo del bungalow. Es mas, me encontraba adentro del mismo y paso una rata GIGANTE por adentro del cuarto, saliendo por la pared/techo del bungalow. Tiene varias pequeñas aberturas por donde entran y salen. La respuesta del dueño fue si habia comida dentro del bungalow, por eso entran. Tenia un paquete vacio de frutos secos en mi mochila, el cual una rata mordio y me rompio el bolsillo de la mochila. Un asco.

Its a great place, with really nice people and owners. Right next to it is a restaurant that sells both local and Western for for reasonable prices. The rooms are relatively clean, there is free water and even a fridge in the superior bungalows, one even has hot water. But sadly its not all good. To start with the price is reasonable for pulau weh, but pretty expensive when compared with most places in Sumatra. There are two superior bungalows (which both cost the same) but sadly only one of them has hot water, so if you don't specifically request the one with hot water you will probably be out of luck. The walkways from the bungalows to the main road are one of the most dangerous and slippery I've ever seen. There are geckos that pee everywhere in the room. And lastly, a piece of advice, do not forget anything in the room while checking out. The room service will assume everything you leave is trash that you don't want anymore no matter how obvious it seems that it is not. They won't even tell you if you forget anything.

Ik snap echt werkelijk niet hoe Santi aan zo’n hoge beoordeling komt. Nu ben ik echt al 25 jaar gewend om te backpacken dus ben veel bungalows wereldwijd tegengekomen. Wij hadden met ons gezin 2 bungalows voor 5 nachten ergens achterin die donkere tuin. De ene bungalow was nog wel redelijk maar de ander was echt te ranzig. Oud, heet en stinkend, de douche en wc onder de schimmels en een ventilator die amper rond kon draaien. Het resort heeft verder niks te bieden. Eten kan bij de buren en die gast van het resort kun je soms tegenkomen maar voor de rest is er niemand. Het strandje van in de buurt, wat zo mooi moet zijn (not) ligt bezaaid met bootjes, dus lekker zwemmen zit er niet in. Santi heeft echt een veel te hoge score, ook op ***********. Als ik een cijfer moet geven dan zou het een kleine voldoende zijn omdat het goedkoop is. Wij hebben via een gast die we tegen zijn gekomen een snorkeltrip gedaan. Na 2 nachtjes hadden we het wel gezien en zijn naar het ander deel van het eiland vertrokken. Verbouwereerd bleef de eigenaar achter en wilde nog een andere hut aanbieden. No thanks! Niet aan te bevelen.

We stayed for 5 nights at Santi Gardens during our entire stay on Pulau Weh. They are fairly new bungalows, very close to the sea in Iboih. The bungalow had a private porch with a couple of chairs and a hammock. The interior space is divided into the sleeping area and a lower area where the toilet and shower are located. The bed has a mosquito net. The only thing missing is a wardrobe or hanger for clothes. The toilet is quite spacious, but it has a problem: it's not enclosed from the outside, there is an opening of about 10cm at the ceiling, which allows many mosquitoes to enter. With these two details corrected, it would be a spectacular bungalow. They seem to have some agreement with Olala Bungalows & Restaurant because they share the Wi-Fi (with very limited coverage). In any case, the quality-price ratio is very good.

This is a friendly budget option in Iboih close to the sea. They have wooden, clean bungalows with bathroom, large bed and balcony. The bungalows are in a natural tropical garden, partially with view of the sea. We had a very pleasant stay.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Santi Garden Bungalows! The hosts Santi and Martin were genuinely nice and made sure we felt more than welcome at their place! Initially we just wanted to stay for four nights but ended up with eight and if it hadn’t been the end of our trip we would have stayed longer for sure. The location of the place is just perfect! A few minutes walk north of the centre of Iboih, it lies in a quiet and tranquil spot that has such a relaxed atmosphere and beautiful views of the bay between Pulau Rubiah and Pulau Weh! The food nextdoors is fantastic and has a really nice seating area just above the turquoise blue waters that make a trip to Pulau Weh so special. You can either go snorkelling directly in front of the bungalows or even go for some scuba diving trips and you are in for a really good time in the beautiful underwater world of north Sumatra (for Scuba Diving we strongly recommend the Iboih Dive Center)! The cottages are basic but absolutely lovely and a real good value! You can also directly rent your motorbike with them if you are into that.
