The Collingdale Guest House

My Mum and her partner have just returned and couldn't sing praises enough .They are both quite particular but said they could not find fault with anything..so.well done ! Said they would definitely return

We had a fantastic stay at Collingwood Guest House in Ilfracombe. The location was perfect – right by the beautiful harbour with stunning views and super close to everything in town. Parking was free and right outside, which made everything so easy from the start. The rooms were spotless, cozy and the beds were really comfortable, just what you need after a long day exploring. A huge shoutout to Sharon, who was absolutely amazing – so friendly, warm, and welcoming. She really made us feel right at home. Breakfast was delicious and came with the most incredible sea view – it’s hard to beat that kind of start to your day. And let’s talk about the price… £80 for a twin room in the middle of July during a heatwave?! Honestly, an absolute bargain for what you get. We’ll 100% be coming back next time we’re in the area, and if you’re reading this wondering whether to book – just do it. You won’t regret it!

We recently spent 3 days at the Collingdale and cannot recommend the guest house enough. We were very well looked after by the owners and having selected a sea view room we were rewarded with superb sea and harbour views. Lots of choices for breakfast, including full Devon or vegetarian options with several other meals, all to die for. Very comfortable bed and a choise of firm or lovely soft feather pillows was a great option often ignored by other guesthouses. I'd recommend the car parking option as the free parking outside the guesthouse was always busy during our stay. If you are ever in the area I highly recommend you stay here.

This is a lovely Guest House .Sharon and Daryl are exceptionally friendly and provide lots of advice on the local and surrounding area.The breakfasts are marvellous.we really enjoyed our week.👍

What a wonderful B&B. We had the best ever breakfast each day of our 5 night stay, including a special smoked haddock dish. The full Devon (my favourite) was cooked to perfection using top quality ingredients, and was absolutely delicious. There is also a full selection of cereals, fresh fruit, juices etc. and toast with, once again, top quality produce. No lunches any day for us! Our room (2) was extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean, with every possible amenity you might need, even bathrobes. Everything was replenished every day, including bottled water. We had a balcony with two seats, cushions, and a view of the harbour. With the early morning sun, and a cup of tea, this was a lovely start to every day. Sharon, Daryl, and Sue are the friendliest and most helpful people you could hope to meet. Great advice on where to go for walks, places to see, buses, restaurants etc. and excellent recommendations on all fronts for us. This was our first visit to Ilfracombe having stayed in many other locations in Devon and Cornwall. We would highly recommend The Collingdale, and this would be our first choice if we decided to visit Ilfracombe again.

Excellent breakfast, super helpful host Wonderfully located just near the harbor with plenty of restaurants within walking distance, we got a solid start on the day with the delicious and hearty cooked to order breakfast. It's just steps to the South West Coastal Path for short or long hikes and a nice swimming beach close by. Since Ilfracombe was our first stop on our way south, the host provided an extensive list of places we might want to visit. We were able to find free on-street parking out in front both days we stayed, but the Collingdale's own spots are reasonable and convenient too. My only complaint, and it's minor, is that the ensuite shower is quite small and hot water takes a long time to reach the upper floor. As I said—minor. I'd stay again, recommended!
