Alakoski

A log-built, two-story cottage in a scenic location, at the confluence of Ivalojoki-river Alakoski-rapid, 28 km north of Saariselkä.

The cottage has a spacious entrance hall, living room, kitchen, 3 bedrooms, sauna, washroom with 2 showers, dressing/utility room and 2 toilets (one on both floors). Terrace and carport. The area of the cabin is 81+39 m² and the year of construction was 2003.

On the entrance floor there is 1 bedroom with a double bed.

Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms, each with 2 separate beds

Linens ordered later (after the rental period has already started) cost 20 e/set (if ordered in advance 15 e/set). The kitchen has, among other things: crockery for 12 people, a coffee machine, a kettle and a toaster. The equipment also includes an iron and ironing board. Channels 1, 2, 3 & 4 on TV.

Alakoski is an ideal destination for e.g. fishermen, berry pickers, snowmobile groups.

Fish stock: trout, sturgeon, grayling, whitefish, perch and grayling.

Fishing in Ivalojoki Alakoski requires a permit. Permits to Ivalojoki-river can be redeemed on Metsähallitus' website (www.eraluvat.fi). From Lappispola downwards, permits must be obtained through the Törmänen association, permits can be purchased from Suutari-Seppo and Jari Huhtamella (tel. +358 40 702 5302).

Every year from the beginning of September, Ivalojoki is closed for all fishing. During the fishing season, Mondays are completely closed for fishing.
