There is also museum of shepards life and Snow Mary chapel. The settlement is revived every June, when herdsmen return to the settlement and tend to their cattle until September. They are delighted to invite you to taste their dairy products or try a typical herdsmen’s lunch; sour milk and hard-boiled corn mush. If you like hiking - may be one day trip to the highest mountains in Kamnisko - Savinjske Alpe (climbing to Planjavameters) or for younger children visit a meadow village Dol (one hour walking downhil and than walking to mountain Konj 1803 meters (2 hours walking). The intact Nature: you should visit Veternica and Dovja Griča caves.Veternica cave is the most popular natural site of interest on Velika planina. This is a trip high in the mountains. We do not recommend to go up with suitcases with rollers (it's very useless). It's better to go up with backpacks. Parking: You leave the car on the parking at the bottom station of cable car. You go up by cable car and double seat lift (read the instructions below). In case of fog, you will not find the chalet without Gps. Nearby Ljubljana and only few kilometres from the town Kamnik is located the bottom station of the cable car to Velika planina, which takes you amongst the green pastures of the mountain plateau in the heart of the Kamnik Alps.
