The Ma Ti Temple Wolong Villa is a great choice for guests looking for accommodation in Sunan, having been recently renovated in 2024. The hotel is 57km from Minle Railway Station and 61km from Zhangye Ganzhou Airport. There is no shortage of things to see in the area, with the Thirty-Three Days Grottoes, Beisi Grottoes and Palace of King Gesar all nearby. This hotel makes a great place to kick back and relax after a long day of sightseeing. This Sunan hotel features parking on site. According to our guests, the location of this hotel is one of the best around. This hotel is particularly popular with those traveling with families.
"As always I'll rate the hotel I stayed at relative to the cost incurred. So is it value for money?
Location : The location could not be bettered. It is the closest hotel to the Mati Grottoes. Maybe a 500m walk away.
Service : Very good, very friendly ! Welcoming and efficient on arrival. Took food orders for delivery at lunch and dinner (which helped a lot as in Winter all the restaurants in the village were closed)! And also helped me buy snacks in the afternoon (as the usual stores in the village were closed during Winter).
Bedroom : Basic however with 2 beds (comfortable and clean) and a I really liked the sunny alcove with two seats and a table, to sit and drink tea/coffee (bring your own!).
Bathroom : small but most importantly hot water and plenty of it ! The toilet is Western style not a squat (phew - good for my old knees!)
Breakfast : was provided but as I don't often eat breakfast I can't comment further.
You shouldn't expect a 5 star hotel, it's a basic Chinese hotel so don't get expectations up, however it is great value for money, clean and has everything you'd need for a short stay. I would definitely stay here again !"
