This expansive 2,700 sq. ft. beach house, within walking distance to world renown Harris Beach and a 5 min drive to our other favorites, Mill Beach. Upstairs, there are 3 bedrooms each with a king bed. For the kids, there is a large bunk room with 2 sets of twin bunks with a tv set up with a Nintendo switch. And it almost never has people on it because you have to walk down the side of a cliff on a paved path to get to it, and because very few tourists know about it.LONE RANCH BEACHLone Ranch Beach with lots of tide pools with starfish and other sea life is a four minute drive north.HARBOR BEACHThe magnificent driftwood covered beach at the harbor is just five minutes south.SECRET BEACHSecret Beach is wild and scenic and it's just a quick 10 or 12 minute drive north on US Highway 101.WHALE WATCHINGResident gray whales can be seen all year but they are more frequently spotted in the summer and fall when they feed closer to shore. We also have thousands more migrating whales along the Oregon coast every year, going south, between mid-December & mid-January and they start returning up the Oregon toward to Alaska every year in between late March and June.REDWOOD NATURE TRAILWalking under the canopy of a redwood forest is like being in a natural cathedral. The mile long and quite walkable Redwood Nature Trail is just 9 miles away. And world famous Jedediah Smith Redwoods Park is just 22 miles south on US Highway 101.WILD RIVERSThe Chetco River, with some of the best salmon runs in the world plus a lot of trout and steelhead, runs right through Brookings.
