It includes a spacious master suite plus three additional bedrooms, three bathrooms, large screened in porch, extensive kitchen and two dining rooms. A two car garage is available for guests to use. Washer and dryer are included for your laundry needs. TV and internet with Wifi provided. Base price is $275.00 per night for four guests. Additional guests are charged $35.00 per night per guest. A second bedroom located on the first floor has a king sized bed, connected to the hall bathroom with a shower/tub combo.Located on the second floor are the other two bedrooms with large walk in closets in each room. Our beautiful home exudes hospitality and warmth the minute you step inside.Built in 1910 as a "Painted Lady" of the era, the house is perfectly situated just two blocks from our lovely downtown making it a perfect distance for a quiet evening stroll.The property is surrounded by old apple and plum trees and full lilac bushes that scent the air in the spring and offer shade in the summer. One of my favorite features of the house is the very deep claw-footed tub in the upstairs bathroom. After a good day of outdoor activities it is a welcome place for a sudsy soak! Then make yourself a delicious cup of tea and relax with a good book in one of the three comfortable sitting rooms. The backyard offers privacy and quiet moments under the stars while making plans for your next adventure such as hiking in the Crazy Mountains, fishing on our rivers or heading out for a day trip to the park. This is a comfortable log cabin with great attention to detail set on our cattle ranch in the Melville area where our families have lived for generations. Otter Creek is a small, beautiful stream and is just steps away from the back door. There are miles of hiking, bird watching and photographic opportunities; scenic and wildlife views surround you. This is for the nature lover, those who love the outdoors and all it offers. We have a private reservoir a short walk from the cabin, and you are welcome to use our kayaks and paddleboards to enjoy the water. There is also an opportunity for horseback riding for an additional fee mid-June to mid-Sept at the nearby Sweet Grass Ranch.The spaceThe hand-built cabin has a living room with lovely views of the Crazy Mountains, comfortable stuffed hickory chairs and sofa, wagon wheel lights. The dining area has a hickory table which seats 6 easily by a picture window or there is a back deck for eating where you can listen to Otter Creek and watch one of our glorious sunsets as you watch deer, fox and birds enjoy the evening. There is a full kitchen with cooking utensils, pans, etc., in the cupboards as well as some cooking essentials. There is also a wood burning stove in the living room for that unbeatable wood heat. The cabin has a downstairs bedroom with a queen bed and an upstairs loft with two twin beds (and enough room to add a couple additional guests on floor mattresse, if requested). Guest accessThere is hiking for miles on the ranch, which runs all the way up to the base of the Crazies. Please check with Rocco or Annie upon arrival, and we will point you in the right direction and answer any questions. Hiking recommendations may vary based where our cattle are at the time of your stay. We do not allow you to drive anywhere on the ranch other than to the cabin.The Otter Creek Cabin provides the perfect opportunity to reconnect with family and enjoy the simple pleasures as there is no television. Very peaceful and comfortable whether you are staying for a night or several months.The spaceThe cottage includes a master bedroom/bathroom that features a queen bed and jacuzzi tub/shower combination. There is a sitting room that is home to both a couch and recliner (note: I have fast WIFI but no TV) not to mention an assortment of games. The kitchenette/dining room is stocked very nicely for an overnight or extended stay, with the kitchen having a small refrigerator, hot plate, microwave, toaster, Keurig, single-serve coffee maker, blender, all the basic pots pans and utensils.While the cottage is ideally suited to couples, there is a couch and recliner that could easily sleep small children as long as everyone is clear that the one bathroom is accessible only via the master bedroom.Guests have complete access to their 100% private suite, plus access to the backyard propane grill.The Sweetgrass Cottage is always stocked with: toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, coffee, sweeteners, creamers, cooking oil, salt, pepper, etc.We will gladly offer a discount for monthly and weekly stays during certain times of year.
