If you're looking for genuine southern hospitality Hope & Glory is it! Peggy and Dudley are hands on and go out of their way to ensure you enjoy your stay. The cottages are cozy and each one has it's own unique furnishings. The breakfasts delivered to your door are homemade and a great way to start your day. The staff go out of their way to ensure your comfort. The salt water pool is always in perfect condition and provides a good place to get a little sun. Evening dinner at the Colonnade is very special. Chef Meseret's dinners are a foodies delight and Heather pairs the perfect wines with each course. Hope & Glory is truly a gem in Irvington. It's the perfect place to get detoxed from life's everyday stresses. We have been coming to Hope & Glory for years and each visit is like seeing old friends again. We look forward to our next visit.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the charming Hope and glory Inn. Heather met us at the door and kindly showed us to our comfortable cottage after a short tour of the lovely grounds. Innkeepers were very accommodating, and the breakfast delivered to our cottage was delicious! There are darling shops, and fun eateries all around the area, which we enjoyed as well. Hope to return!

We returned to the Hope And Glory Inn to celebrate the Fourth of July weekend because we had such an enchanting experience the first time and knew we would have a great time again. Peggy , Dudley, and Heather provided blue ribbon service, and made us feel like family. We enjoyed delicious oysters and wine while watching the Fourth of July parade pass by. That night, Heather recommended a special place for us to see the fireworks which was perfect.

Stopped in for a night cap at the Detention Room Bar and was served by Heather. An absolute delight! She provided great service, engaging and entertainment conversation and loads of information about the property, its restaurant and other offerings in the area.

Our entire stay was perfect! We were celebrating our 29th wedding anniversary. The cottage was perfect, and the surrounding gardens were breathtaking. The morning breakfast was delicious. We will return for their generous hospitality..

We stayed in Cottage #6. It was just lovely and relaxing. The entire place was magical and serene, with thoughtful tidbits of advice along the brick path to our cottage. Peggy and Dudley were great hosts; they really thought of everything and we sincerely appreciated how much they cared about our needs. They live on-site so it was just nice knowing they were right there if we needed anything. The breakfasts delivered by Dudley were absolutely delicious! We enjoyed walking and shopping in the small towns of Irvington and nearby Kilmarnock. Everyone was so nice and welcoming!

The best hotel in the Weems/Irvington, VA area. We had a delightful time. The owners, Dudley and Peggy Patteson along with their incredible staff, Merrista (?spelling) and Heather were outstanding in every sense of the word. The Colonnade food was fabulous. All the staff was knowledgeable of the area and we took their advice. Hands down would definitely stay there again.

What a wonderful place. We wanted a nice weekend away and this is the place. We rented cabin 5 in the courtyard. While the outdoor bath and the salt water pool were not open yet because of the season, we just enjoyed the quiet. This is a place we will visit again this year. It is a place for adults, and we cannot wait for oysters in the vineyard or grab a drink at the Detention bar when we go back. Also there is a nice little espresso counter with the right equipment to make a perfect espresso. The owners Peggy and Dudley are wonderful. We enjoyed the breakfast prepared by Peggy and delivered by Dudley 8.30 AM. That poached pear was fantastic Peggy. Upon arrival we were welcomed by the lovely Heather who also served us the next evening at the inn’s restaurant. An excellent prix fixe dinner with wine expertly prepared by chef Meseret and served in front of the fireplace in the dining room was the ticket for us. We will be back and highly recommend this place if you want a nice getaway.

We wanted to get away for a few days, enjoy a good meal, walk in the woods and along the beach and rest. Staying at Hope & Glory allowed us to do all that and much more. First, Peggy & Dudley are the finest and most generous hosts. They welcomed us as we were long lost friends instead of the newcomers we were. The meal at the Colonade was fabulous - the Chef is divine. We stayed in the cottage which quickly became our home away from home. The trails and the preserve were a short distance away and we welcomed being in the outdoors - even in February weather. And the breakfasts each morning were simply delicious. We could not have asked for anything more - we highly recommend a stay at Hope & Glory you will not be disappointed in fact you will be thrilled!
