"A nice, functional, and semi-central hotel. The room is small but has all the comforts, as does the bathroom; it's a shame the shower is too small. The spa has a pool with an efficient hydromassage. The restaurant is spacious and the food is good. Service is prompt. Unfortunately, a bottle of water costs €3.50 and a modest glass of wine costs a whopping €6. The cost wasn't disclosed beforehand, as the daily menu only lists the dishes to order. A little more transparency wouldn't hurt."

Staff were all kind and went out of their way to accommodate us, including changing our room when overhead noise from room above bugged me—my own hang up, but they were so gracious in helping. "I would have given a score of 5 but there were a couple of issues maybe some with a language barrier or just the staff aren’t used to small complaints. Firstly we had an issue with our toilet running constantly after flushing this kept my wife awake at times in the night,I literally took the hotel staff down to the room on the first morning of our 4 night stay. The plumber turned up the night before we were leaving? Secondly at breakfast we went to wait to queue for a table but was told to go by ourselves,there was no menu,so had to ask what they had,after a couple of morning I noticed the Italians were allowed to go to the breakfast bar to order,I didn’t understand this and when our breakfast came there were somethings that weren’t with our order,the server didn’t write anything down?(the second morning and rest of our stay there were two servers)? The rooms and location was spot on,over looking the beach,with sun beds €10 a day each The beds,rooms were comfortable,clean and the shower water pressure and AC were really good. I would recommend staying here and would go back even with the couple of small issues I mentioned the staff were really friendly to as I said some things may have been a language barrier thing"

"This hotel is right on the water and the sister hotel provides a private beach. You can’t get a better location. When you get to the beach you can go inside to the bar and order drinks and snacks. They will bring it to you on the beach. The only downside is they don’t come around and ask if you would like anything while you are laying out - every time you have go inside to the bar. This isn’t a huge problem but it’s the first place I’ve stayed where they don’t this so it was a surprise. The breakfast served at Mare Blu is a great way to start the day. Lots of choices and amazing breakfast staff. We fell in love with Carmen and Rosie. The only downside of the breakfast is the eggs - they were more like egg soup then scrambled eggs but that could just be a cultural difference. The room we stayed in was HUGE! The bathroom was a great size as well. The mattress is extremely firm, I’ll even go further, hard. So hard and uncomfortable. But you are there for the experience for Ischia. I did decide that when we come back I’m going to Amazon a mattress pad to the hotel and then just throw it away. The staff at both locations are phenomenal and welcoming. I loved every day spent here and will be coming back."

"I have the best experience! In my opinion this hotel deserves 5 stars! Food , people and service very elegant !Very nice people and excellent service ! Right now I’m here but I’m thinking to come and recommend my friends in US ! Last night I hurt my feet in Capri , and i can’t walk ok so the driver put for me some steps to get easy at the van so I don’t know his name but he is so awesome! I’m enjoying ! Beautiful city , beautiful people the best thing ever the food ! I love this place! Thank you very much for your service ! You are very appreciated !❤️"

"This hotel gave me a very big surprise. First of all, the location is very good, not far from Aragon Castle and Ischia Pier, all within walking distance. The hotel gave me a free room upgrade, and the balcony of the room directly overlooks the Aragon Castle, with invincible sea views. The hotel also has a two-story public roof terrace with a wide view and feels that the Aragon Castle is within easy reach. The hotel's service is also very good, including a rich breakfast. This is a very cost-effective hotel, highly recommended!"

"good indoor pools with warm water (maybe even TOO MUCH!!)... small but always not very crowded so very pleasant... good outdoor pool too (very large) with warm water... friendly and always courteous lifeguard... comfortable rooms... breakfast ok with a wide choice... restaurant: we had the option with dinner only... I would say for 6 no more... strange in 7 days that they never offered us fried fish... structure a few hundred meters from the center and the sea (beach with 2 sunbeds and umbrella included in the cost of the room) .. as written in the title... very likely we will return next year too... value for money services offered.... VERY GOOD!"

"Avoid this hotel at all costs! We booked this for 1 night and had to change our itinerary. Shortly after booking, I emailed and received no response. I then called and spoke with a woman who said she would give the message to the reservation manager. I have since emailed six times and called 2 additional times. I finally reached out to American Express travel who I booked with and they reached out on my behalf. This ridiculous hotel would not make an exception. Unreal! I have always been able to work directly with hotel if something were to come up. I have never experienced such horrible customer service. Or lack there of. Couldn’t be bothered to even respond to me. Shame on me for booking a nonrefundable. Now I’m out over $600. If you’re looking for great customer service look elsewhere. Speaks volumes on how one would be treated upon arrival."

"A Little Gem of a hotel situated down a side street and right on the beach. Calm, relaxing and pleasant atmosphere. We had room 102 and although it was a basement room it was in no way dark or dingy, we picked this room because of the seperate private terrace. It was spotless and cleaned every day. At this time of the year (April) it was very quiet but I can't see it being noisy even at the height of the season. Great value for the price we paid. The service was excellent, friendly, efficient and helpful at all times. I would recommend Hotel Rivamare to anyone seeking a no-frills, basic, clean, friendly, family run hotel. We had a lovely time and hope to return in September!"

"We loved this hotel and the location. Our room looked out at the castle. We were cobvient to the downtown area, bus station and port. We arrived by ferry from Sorrento.our hotel was not far from port. Our room was comfortable. Room for our things. Breakfast included and it was good. Pools were nice. We only used once due to weather. Plenty of places to walk to. Beach across the street. Friendly staff. Great value for what we paid. We had mostly rain but will return to this beautiful island. I would stay here again."

"I stayed at Hotel San Valentino in Ischia, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing in almost every respect. The property features outdated, neglected furnishings, with no attention to aesthetics, immediately giving the impression of a hotel stuck in the past. The staff consists mainly of very young people, who clearly struggle to keep up with the pace and demands. This is not due to lack of effort, but rather because they are obviously underpaid and undervalued. Watching them work hard without proper recognition leaves a bitter impression and inevitably results in disorganized and approximate service. Even more unpleasant is the behavior of the owners, who stand out for their arrogant and provocative manners, often intrusive and disrespectful towards guests. It is difficult to feel welcomed when those running the hotel show such a lack of professionalism and courtesy. As for the dining service, the quality of the food is acceptable, but the offering is monotonous and repetitive: guests end up eating nearly the same dishes every day, with little variety or creativity. Overall, Hotel San Valentino falls far short of the standards one would expect from a hospitality facility in a tourist destination like Ischia. A serious renovation is needed, both in terms of the structure and the management, along with a far more respectful and professional approach toward guests and staff."

"Especially good, suitable for girls to travel alone or 2 girlfriends, arranged a floor to see the Aragon Castle, you can walk to many places, including the pier. Even on rainy days, sitting on the balcony of the room and drinking coffee is very pleasant. Every Friday, the hotel cooks a special rabbit meal for guests, super delicious, not to be missed! I heard from locals that the kitchen of this hotel is very famous. The buffet ➕ rabbit ➕ lemon sorbet dessert is 20 euros. You can also add some pasta, but you must remember to book at breakfast on Friday!"
