Planet Hollywood Cancun Resort

Service was great. Our ocean view room was lovely. The room itself was clean but definitely could tell wear and tear in spots but that wasn’t a bother to us. Food was less than to be desired. Every meal left me wanting more so that was disappointing. The beach front was great as well as all the pools and lazy river. We had some issues in our group with charges to rooms that shouldn’t have been there. They all eventually got sorted out but it took a lot of work to make things right. I don’t think I would recommend this resort to family and friends. I would look for a different resort but the island itself was good.

We just returned from a two week stay from the UK. We were a family of 4 but travelled with another family of 4 also. We all did have a memorable holiday, however there are many issue with this hotel that suggest it is not a 5*. Everyday we had to get up around 630am to secure a sun bed with an umbrella. Some mornings there was no beds left or we would get these black ones with metal across base, very uncomfortable. One day my husband went to pool bar with our friend to get drinks and was told only 2 drinks per person?! We are a family of 4 and witnessed some people asking for 10 shots and 6 drinks! Another issue is water! You can’t get a bottle of water anywhere. (Unless from your mini bar in room 1 per guest each day) they have a water dispenser at the pool bar, however it runs out quickly. I unfortunately did end up with a really dodgy tummy and spent a full day in bed, guess these things happen but I am aware of other people getting sick. Another issue is glasses! My cousin loves a nice chilled white wine and one evening they gave her this is a large plastic cocktail glass! Within 10 minutes the wine is warm. I get around the pool plastic is required, however sitting at the lobby bar at the evening a drink in a glass is nicer. We did manage to book restaurants easily through the app and enjoyed some. Italian and Mexican were our least favourite, however steak house is really good. On our last day we hired a cabana, this was great fun and enjoyed fact we didn’t need to rush up for a sun lounger! Only thing they do bring you some food but was enough for 4 people and there was 8 of us. Overall we did make lovely memories but this resort is not 5* small changes and it could improve.
