"This is the first time I’ve said on here avoid at all costs. Positive: comfy bed and good size room. Free parking and a bar. Negative: Exceptionally poor service at breakfast-allow at least an hour to finally get and eat a hot breakfast. We sent the porridge back to be reheated, we had to ask for the honey to go with it, we sent the toast back to get some colour on it rather than eating warm bread, then we had to ask for butter and jam ! No sign but you help yourself to coffee, (just put a sign up and it’s no problem). They only part service the rooms- they replenish tea coffee etc but don’t make your bed. They do not serve evening meals (which is probably a good thing!). Lack of staff around in the day and at breakfast. We reported twice our towel rack was broken and nothing done about it. We mentioned to a local we were staying here and she said oh no never stay there. That says it all really ! Having paid for their suite we did rather foolishly expect a sea view, beware you don’t get one !"

"The staff are absolutely amazing! The chips - the best we had on our Ireland Scotland trip The scallop appetite is crouching! The Posh Fish n Chips... sea bass, salmon and khadock. "The three of us stayed at the Bowmore House for 4 nights as part of the Scottish Routes Islay Whisky Tour. Andrew and Alison were excellent hosts who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was as pleasant and enjoyable as possible. The room we stayed in was spacious, very clean and provided a beautiful coastal view from the main window. The en-suite bathroom was also generously sized with a bath and shower provided along with the usual amenities you would expect. A particular highlight were the hearty and delicious Scottish breakfasts that we received from Alison every morning. These were cheerfully accompanied by a "breakfast dram" from Andrew, which along with his stories and knowledge about the island, kept our group thoroughly entertained. All of this set us up perfectly each day for our Islay whisky adventure! Could not recommend this place any more!"
