Hotel Bissau Palace

Magnifique palais! Nous sommes arrivés en fin de journée, en plein centre ville (??) dans le quartier musulman, la cohue incroyable, d'un coup notre chauffeur rentre dans cette "propriété" incroyable! Très belle surprise. Nous avons demandé à changer de chambre, la 1e ne nous plaisait pas trop (impression d'être un peu à l'écart dans l'arrière cour!! Et en plus 2 lits...) Bref, on nous octroie une chambre à l'étage, très jolie, grand lit, belle salle de bain. Mais ce qui est vraiment magnifique c'est l'intérieur de la "maison", de grandes salles hyper bien décorées, des salons, bibliothèques, salle à manger, c'est absolument magnifique! Personnel aux petits soins, diner et petits déjeuner excellents. Et cette impression d'être "au calme" dans cette ville énorme, bruyante et hyper animée.

Heritage & Atmosphere: The hotel is undeniably rich in history, with its regal interiors and an impressive collection of artifacts. However, time has taken its toll. While the charm of an old building is undeniable, the lack of upkeep is evident, with dust accumulating in various corners and an overall sense of neglect in the rooms. Rooms & Comfort: The vintage aesthetic is appealing, but the cleanliness leaves much to be desired. Guests may find that furnishings and amenities show signs of age and wear. The low water pressure in the shower was also an inconvenience, diminishing the comfort level of the stay. Dining & Breakfast: The breakfast experience was underwhelming, with limited offerings that did not impress. However, the omelet and coffee stood out as the only highlights of the morning meal. A more refined and varied selection would greatly enhance the dining experience. Location: Situated a bit far from Jaipur’s bustling city center, the location may not be the most convenient for those looking to explore major attractions with ease. However, for travelers who appreciate a quieter, more secluded atmosphere, it might be an advantage. Service & Hospitality: One of the hotel’s strongest points is its staff. The team is warm, welcoming, and possesses a great sense of humor, adding a personal touch to the stay. Their friendly demeanor helps compensate for some of the hotel’s shortcomings.

Un joyaux, une perle rare avec tellement de potentiel! Quel dommage de ne rien investir ou même seulement entretenir dans ce lieu L accueil a été tel un hôtel d autoroute: on nous a montré notre chambre, et c est tout (au rdc sur jardin mais sans fenetre....) Le lieu était pourtant propice à en dire d'avantage sur son histoire sûrement très riche, comme en témoignent les salles communes et les quelques photos accrochées. Quel dommage, il aurait ete facile de redorer un peu son image. L installation électrique fait peur: elle doit dater de la construction... Les salles de bains, le linge de lit également. C était globalement propre mais tellement vieux et mal entretenu qu on ne s y sentait pas bien. Restaurant très bon, petit déjeuner moyen. Le personnel très très gentil et serviable. Nous avons fait beaucoup d hotel lors de notre séjour, et celui ci n à pas un bon rapport qualité prix Dommage

Hotel très agréable, chambre superbe, spacieuse et très propre. cadre très beau. Très calme. Le personnel est adorable et le restaurant excellent. L'hôtel est bien situé. Le personnel est toujours prêt à vous rendre service. Je recommande cet hôtel pour un séjour à Jaipur

As others have said it really is a place of faded glory. The rooms are all individual and with varying degrees of comfort. The place could do with money being spent to update the bathrooms and some of the electrics. Our room smelled musty and there were damp patches. On the plus side the building is a palace and if you want a heritage experience rather than a modern hotel then this fits the bill. It’s completely authentic and the wall paintings are beautiful. The staff are wonderful and attentive and the food is excellent. The breakfast is the most varied that we experienced. We ate at the restaurant and the food was excellent although one meal would certainly be enough for two people! The hotel is right in the heart of the old city so it is possible to walk to some of the attractions, if you want to take your life in your hands. Although centrally located it is set back in its own grounds and peaceful at night. The pool area is small but it’s possible to eat breakfast by the pool.

Great decoration and paintings. I can imagine that 30 years ago this hotel was fantastic, but now is quite old and badly needs a lift up. Despite that, people at the hotel are very nice and overall is not too bad for a 3* hotel (probably a 2* for US standards)
