House of Backpackers

Our trip started off badly, as no one was present in reception when we arrived at 19:00 hours and it took us about 20-30 minutes of messaging on WhatsApp and waiting to try and get a response. When they did get there, they had no record of our reservation (made through Hostelworld) and this led to much confusion. We had booked a 3 person room (ie. 1 double and one single bed) for two of us who are not a couple. They clearly didn't have any of these, so we were offered a double room, which we had to get them to separate the beds from into two singles. At the end, they still made us pay for the 3-person room we had booked! The room was actually fine with separate shower and toilet which is useful for 2 males sharing. The air conditioning worked and it was quiet at night. Wifi was spotty but if you stood in the right place, then you could make a call to home on it. Some of the power sockets in our room didn't work, but others did. On the day we left, the water supply seemed to have failed as well so there was no water to the room. It's worth noting that there is no hostel atmosphere to this place. We didn't see any other guests while we were staying. The area is 'OK' - not too far from MV road where there are good food options, but very difficult to buy water for example - we had to walk to the cinema to get this. It's a bit far to walk to most of the main things you would want to go to so we used Uber to get tuk-tuks most of the time. The breakfast options are ok - paratha mainly, on the roof top, which is currently under some level of construction so is not that relaxing a place at the moment. We had to wait one hour for breakfast one day as the 'chef' had become stuck in the lift! Mr Singh the manager was very nice and concerned that we were having a good time, however.

O hotel tem um serviço de cortesia que te busca de graça, tanto da estação de trem como aeroporto, o que nos deu muita segurança pra chegar no mesmo. O atendimento foi ótimo, nos deram até um baralho de cortesia! Foram sempre muito hospitaleiros e nos ajudaram com tudo. O quarto foi ótimo, muito espaçoso, hotel com elevador e tem até rooftop. Fica na histórica Pink City Ponto de atenção: a água quente do chuveiro, o reservatório é bem pequeno, então o banho tinha que ser rápido e fluxo de água baixo. O bairro também é bem simples, o que não foi um problema

We changed to this accommodation as unhappy with our original choice, and were very happy here. The room that we had was large with a large double bed and bunk beds, it was clean and bright. There was a small issue with the shower and the manager had it rectified immediately. The Manager Manesh was so incredibly helpful, he honestly couldn’t do enough to help us and all the staff were courteous. The room facilities were good, with a kettle, coffee, tea and bottled water. In a small foyer outside of our room we had access to a shared fridge (which was spotless) and there was a washing machine with a drying facility on the terrace, though we used the laundry service the hotel offered which was very good and charged 30 rupees per item - it was sent off and returned the same day. As an older couple who would usually have been put off by the name ‘backpackers’ this small comfortable hotel was very good in all aspects.

Pendant notre voyage, le bâtiment annexe et la terrasse étaient en travaux pour un futur agrandissement. Cela ne permet pas de profiter pleinement de la terrasse, petit dejeuner et soirée. De plus en l'absence du gérant le personnel n'est pas très à l'aise avec l'anglais.

We went on a family trip last month. It was an amazing experience staying there. The staff and food was amazing. Staff members were really helpful with Us. My parents enjoyed it a lot. I will surely go with my friends again. This place is highly recommended to stay!

Amazing place to stay with friends and family. The rooftop is good for stargazing if weather is favourable. Well mannered staff...... All thanks to House of backpacker making my trip to Jaipur special and memorable. ,....................
