GGuest UserStaying at Yun Wen Xin Hotel in Kaifeng this time was like discovering a hidden gem – a truly delightful surprise! I initially chose it for its superb location near Qingming Shanghe Park; it's a mere five to six-minute walk to the entrance. This meant no rushing to catch transport in the morning, and after enjoying the park's evening lights, I could leisurely stroll back to the hotel. The entire walk felt steeped in Song Dynasty charm, and that sense of relaxation was incredibly appealing.
However, what truly captured my heart after checking in was the hotel's own little garden. While small, it’s meticulously maintained: cobblestone paths wind through it, bordered by unnamed flowers and plants blooming vibrantly. In a corner, a few wicker chairs and tables invite you to unwind. In the afternoon, sunlight filters through the leaves, casting dappled patterns, and even just sitting there, lost in thought, felt utterly soothing.
Then there's the hotel's surroundings, which are also impeccable. Despite its central location, it's remarkably tranquil. During evening walks, you'd see local residents leisurely chatting and strolling, and the air itself seemed infused with a sense of peace. It's even more charming at night: the streetlights outside the hotel cast a warm yellow glow on the roadside greenery, and in the distance, you can faintly see the lights of Qingming Shanghe Park. Standing in the little garden and looking up, even the night sky felt incredibly gentle.
As for the accommodation itself, there was absolutely nothing to fault. The room was spotlessly clean, and the bedding was so plush and comfortable, I never wanted to get up! The facilities were also very new; there was ample hot water, the air conditioning was efficient, and even the toiletries had a subtle, pleasant fragrance, reflecting thoughtful attention to detail. Breakfast was another delightful surprise – not only was there a wide variety, including local Kaifeng specialties like soup dumplings (Guantangbao) and spicy soup (Hulatang), but also fresh fruit and freshly prepared hot dishes. The food was authentic and substantial, perfect for fueling up before a full day of exploring the park.
This stay truly made me experience what it means to feel 'at home away from home.' Yun Wen Xin Hotel is like a secret sanctuary nestled next to the scenic area, offering both convenient access and a peaceful haven amidst the bustling city. Especially that unforgettable little garden – next time I visit Kaifeng, I will definitely choose this place again!
