Berghotel Oeschinensee

Das Beghotel Oeschinensee war für uns jahrelang ein gemütlicher Rückzugsort nach dem Skifahren oder einer Sommerwanderung. Leider hat der Umbau einige Charme-Elemente genommen – Selbstbedienung, enge Tischbereiche und fehlende Rückenlehnen auf der Terrasse. Das einst heimelige Restaurant wirkt nun weniger persönlich, eher auf Gewinnmaximierung ausgerichtet. Schade um den Verlust an Atmosphäre und Gastfreundschaft.

I can only speak to the restaurant here not the hotel… we stopped for some food while visiting Oeschininsee. Service was really bad. Rude servers, and when I asked to fill mine and my daughters water bottles (normal size) with tap water… they charged me $15!!!… FOR TAP WATER! 🤦🏼‍♂️ Do yourself a favor and walk a few steps further and go to AVA. Great service, good food, tasty drinks and an even better view.

Located right next to Oeschinensee Lake, Berghotel is surrounded by mountains overlooking the gorgeous Oeschinensee lake. Scenic 20 minutes walk from the cable car brings you to Berghotel. Our check-in was smooth and the staff was very friendly, always wearing that beautiful smile and ready to help. Our room was super cozy and speck clean with a sink, which is always a great addition when you are sharing the bathroom. The shower and bathrooms were tidy too. We had the best dinner in Switzerland here. We had French fries, delicious Veg burger with appetizing salad, wine and coffee ice cream, a must try. Berghotel is a perfect place to stay, to explore the area. With a lot of walking trials there is so much to do here. For customers staying here overnight, there is a free shuttle to cable car in the morning at 9.30am. Show the booking confirmation at the parking + cable car ticket counter and you get a discount on both, now that's a steal deal! Highly recommended stay. Thanks to Berg hotel for making our stay memorable. PS: Thanks to the lady at shuttle bus for keeping my camera safe as I had left it in the bus. I made one call and they confirmed that the camera is safe with them. Thanks again Berghotel. CHEERS!!

Très bon moment passé en couple au Berghotel Oeschinensee lors d’une randonnée dans la région de Kandersteg. Un accueil chaleureux, un service professionnel et un excellent repas. Le tout dans un cadre magnifique. On reviendra. Merci à toute l’équipe du Berghotel !
