The Malabar Beach Resort

This resort is run by truly exceptional Professional, Mr. Sunil, who has spent his entire career in the hospitality industry…..as a top executive in many leading 5 star hotels and culminating as the Procurement Manager for “Symphony of the Seas”, a US based Cruise Ship….Mr. Sunil’s experience is entirely captured in the resort that he runs….it is truly classy…the cleanliness is exceptional, and the food is awesome! What more do you need for a memorable holiday?!!! Add the beach front to that, and the holiday becomes magical!

I have been to this resort twice. Long back in Feb 2011 and then after 14 yrs in Feb 2025. If a resort has survived so long and has grown up so big, that says it all that, people are liking it, and are choosing it. That is the only reason it is growing for better. Back in 2011 there was only one building to stay, Now they have various stay options and rooms. ***** with dedicated and wonderful dinning hall. The main USP of this resort if lush garden and greenary and that too just beside the beach. Which is accessible 24 hours. Rooms : Rooms were near, clean, well maintained, clean bed covers & pillow, with comfortable mattress, AC, wifi, cupboard, chairs and a long table with TV. Bathrooms : Neat, clean, spacious. With body was and hair wash given, washbasin inside, hot water accessible & western comode. Veranda / Balcony : Each room at the ground floor has a nice spacious Veranda with seating and table facing the greenary. And so are the Balconies at the 1st floor. Carry mosquito repellent creams if you wanna seat at the veranda/balcony post sunset. It also has swing seats, which childrens will love. It also has open shower placed ar the corner, to wash all your sands carried from the beach. Parking : Every Room / Cottage has its own parking space and well enough for the number of visitors it can accommodate. Dinning & Food : Morning breakfast is complementary and has always 2-3 options. They also serve Lunch & Dinner on demand / prior order. However, may it be Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner the foods are very tasty and restaurant level with pocket friendly rate. They also provided Water bottles, Tea/coffee, hot milk on demand to room service. Overall, this a must visit resort with mind-blowing nature-friendly ambience, with wonderful staffs and a gentleman Owner (Mr. Sunil).

I was up graded to a lovely, newly renovated suite with it's own garden. A very comfortable bed and quiet location meant I slept very well. The staff were very helpful. Sunhil the owner could not have been kinder or more helpful. He was always busy improving the hotel, garden and beach terrace. The only slight negative was limited evening menu. However breakfast were varied and huge.

Had a wonderful stay with family and friends at this resort. Very well maintained property with lot of beautiful landscaping and Insta worthy photo spots. The breakfast and dinner was very tasty and authentic Kerala cuisine. The beach is just next to the resort giving the feel of a private beach. Very clean beach, the sound of waves hitting the beach can be heard from the resort and was very relaxing. Thank you Mr. Sunil for making sure our stay was comfortable and recommending the local tourist spots. First time visiting Kannur and will definitely visit again.

We are glad we chose the Malabar Beach Resort for a family reunion with about 15 members, aged 4 to 84. Every age group had an excellent time. The grounds are very well maintained, with several locations for a family photoshoot. The small staff was efficient, friendly and responsive to our needs. And the made-to-order lunch and dinner were delicious, on top of the varied items served at the complimentary breakfast. The staff arranged to procure birthday cakes for our event from a nearby bakery. And to top it all, the semi private beach was heavenly, perfect for an early morning dip or late night walks. The approach to the property is by an unassuming semi-dirt road, which definitely helps maintain its seclusion. After a hectic checking for a relaxing beach resort at Kannur zeroed on to Malabar beach resort. First contacted the resort manager Mr Sumesh who knew Kannada. Enquired him about customising the Pure veg food without garlic. Got a very good response. Then contacted the owner Mr Sunil & had all the information. Both were very cordial & assured me of very good stay. I at 71 year old drove from Mysore accompanied by my wife. The very first impression after reaching the resort was Wow. The manager Mr Sumesh enquired & arranged for a delicious Lunch while on our way to resort. No hassles at all in checking. The moment we reached resort, room was given in just 3 minutes. First time in my entire touring life that, room was given in such a whisker. Thanks to Mr Sumesh & Mr Sunil the owner. Room was very good, meet & tidy surrounded by greenery. Swings, lots of flowery plants & trees greeted us. The beech Tottada was Soo near just 50 metres away from the entrance. It was so clean & the Sunset view was stunning. The helper boys were so humble & Mr Vijay was at our help anytime. Mr Sumesh gave all the information to go about around the resort especially Theyyam festivities, places of importance. The pure Veg food was a delicious & delight. My wife who likes simple food like, chapati, Palayam, sambhar, chutney, curds, & the Mysorean rice had an immense appreciation to the Chef. Coming to the minus points The room didn’t had kettle, coffee and tea & milk sachets unlike other places. They were giving coffee and tea room service but it was being charged. Next even though the food was delicious the vegetarian food was charged a bit more. The prices should have been a minimum of 20% less than what they charge. I felt the food items costed more than any other places. Because it’s a wonderful relaxing place for senior citizens as well as younger families & friends, my request to owner Mr Sunil to give a small discount to seniors. This will be a hearty gesture. We wanted to stay for 2 days but extended to another day graciously for the wonderful, clea, calm, & beautiful beach & food. Will visit again with our daughters & granddaughters shortly. Tq Mr Sunil ( owner) & Mr Sumesh the manager & Mr Vijay the helping boy. I recommend this Malabar beach resort to all my friends, relatives & the Public to go & enjoy the mesmerising beach, resort food both veg & non veg & the hospitality of the entire staff. Pack up immediately and go for a beautiful beach resort stay. There’s a Longest beach drive at Muzampilgad nearby. It’s stunning and beautiful. It’s the longest beach drive in Asia. Muthappa temple nearby is a serene place and having wonderful boat rides. Theyyam is an added attraction.
