Oscar Villa & Studios

Being on the edge of the village, Oscar's is very good base for Walkers/Ramblers. Distances will vary according to the routes you take to and from base to ... (1) Gerakari..10 miles..745ft, cafe behind the church. (2) The Black Cave.. 8:5 miles..1025ft... (3)..Monastery Agios Ioannis Prodromos,..10:5 miles..1285ft.. via Katastari and just keep going up, behind the hill (no names on the app) and down the steep slope to the monastery and back home. Plus there are ample walks for the less/more able walker, either meandering across the valley bottom on quiet country roads/lanes with next to no traffic, or up the ridge to 2200 ft. The views will not disappoint. The tracks up the hill are predominately loose gravel.

As a solo female traveller for the first time, I couldn’t have picked anywhere better. Typical Greek apts, clean & spacious. Pool area quiet & relaxing with a bar/ decent food menu. Nice & quiet area and approx 10/15 min walk to alykes. Thankyou to Katrina & Jimmy for looking after me ☺️I had a lovely time.

Έμεινα στο Oscar Villa and Studios με την οικογένεια μου για διακοπές 6 ημερών τον Ιούλιο. Η περιοχή που βρίσκεται το κατάλυμα είναι ήσυχη και ιδανική για ξεκούραση. Το δωμάτιο ήταν ευρύχωρο με άνετο κρεβάτι, καθημερινή καθαριότητα και όλες τις παροχές. Το πρωινό πλούσιο με διαφορετικές επιλογές σε αλμυρό και γλυκό. Όμορφη πισίνα δίπλα σε έναν εκπληκτικό καταπράσινο κήπο με ωραίο μπαρ για κοκτέιλ και φαγητό. Οι ιδιοκτήτες εξυπηρετικοί και φιλικοί που σε κάνουν να αισθανθείς οικεία. Το συστήνω ανεπιφύλακτα!!!!

We recently returned from a two-week stay at Oscar Villa and studios. We are a family of 4 with 2 children aged 14 and 11. This was our first time at Oscar Villa and studios and Alykes. We stayed in a two-bedroom bungalow, a stone’s throw away from the pool area, which was private and secluded. The pool was lovely - clean and not too cold. There were plenty of sunbeds and sometimes so quiet it felt like our own private pool. The accommodation was basic Greek style but clean and comfortable. Our room was cleaned daily and every 4th day we received fresh towels and sheets. Breakfast was basic continental and we enjoyed filling up on Greek yoghurt, fruit and honey and toast each morning. There is a charge for air con (€15 a day) and the safe (€5 a day), however, we were aware of this before our stay so budgeted accordingly for this. Tourist tax was also €21 for 2 weeks (€1.50 per day). Oscar Villa and studios is a lovely, relaxing establishment with around 14 rooms. It is surrounded by countryside with a beautiful mountain backdrop and is a 15 min stroll away from the main ***** of bars and restaurants in Alykes and the beach. Alykes is a low-key resort with a good choice of restaurants and places to have a cocktail. We found there was ample choice for 2 weeks. The beach is fab - sandy with warm, shallow water. You have to walk quite far out before you become out of your depth, which is perfect for children. We walked along the beach to Alykanas marina to see the turtles swimming. They’re usually there on a morning between about 9-11am. We got the bus one day to Zakynthos town, which is OK but not the prettiest town I’ve been to. We also walked from Oscar Villa and studios to the neighbouring village of Katastari, which has a lovely church and bakery. All in all, we had a fabulous holiday. Thank you to Jimmy, Katerina and Dionysius for being so welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble, not even putting Newcastle United on the TV for us! We would definitely love to return to Oscar Villa and studios again in the future.

Oscar Villa and Studios is a little gem of a place about a 15 minutes stroll to the main area of Alykes and the gorgeous beach. It has its own pool, which was beautifully clean and the pool area was well maintained with enough sun beds for all. There was a small bar, serving drinks and snacks. Breakfast had a good choice of cereals, fruit, yogurt, eggs, meats and cheese and bread. The studio we stayed in was basic, to be expected in Greece, 2 single beds pushed together, but comfortable. Enough hanging and drawers for 2 people and a safety deposit box. Bathroom and shower area were quite small but the shower was great, we managed ok with the space. Kitchen area had a small fridge ✔️, a hot plate, not enough knives and forks but we managed, not sure if you would have enough utensils to cook a full meal. Air con was great and very much needed with the 40 degrees temperatures, however we felt it was overpriced at 20 euros per night!

Me and husband have had a very relaxing time at Oscar villas the owners and staff was so friendly and helpful, the food and cocktails was very nice, a place for all ages a short walk to bar's restaurant's and the beach, the lady that owns Oscar's even arranged for me to have a massage in my room, would definitely recommend Oscar villas and we will come back again.
