Amr Hotel, Katra

I stayed at The Altruist AMR Hotel in Katra and was quite disappointed with the experience due to ongoing renovations and poor guest management. Renovation in Full Swing Without Safety Measures Major construction and spray painting work is being carried out right at the main entrance and lobby areas. Surprisingly, there are no protective enclosures, no ventilation, and no warning signs for guests. Spray paint fumes were openly circulating, and scaffolding and tools were left in common areas, creating a hazardous environment. Air Conditioning Not Functional, making the atmosphere even more uncomfortable, especially amidst the dust and fumes. Cleanliness and Maintenance Concerns Hygiene seemed to be a low priority. There were dirty, damaged floor sections, unsafe electrical sockets, and dust everywhere due to construction. The entire space looked more like a worksite than a hotel lobby. Overall Experience While renovation is understandable, basic guest safety and comfort cannot be ignored. These issues reflect a serious lack of planning and hospitality focus. Until renovations are fully complete, I would advise travelers to consider alternate accommodation in Katra for a more peaceful and safe stay.

This is not just a third-class hotel — it’s an absolute disaster. Staying here was a mistake I deeply regret. The rooms were filthy, dirty and unhygienic bathrooms, and a constant stench that made it hard to breathe. It felt more like a neglected warehouse than a place meant for guests. This place is a trap for unsuspecting travelers. Photos online are misleading and far from reality. I strongly advise anyone reading this: do not book this hotel, even if it’s the last option. You’ll thank yourself later. Everything advertised online is a blatant lie. The photos are photoshopped, and any good reviews must be fake. There is nothing redeeming about this place —not the service, not the rooms, and certainly not the staff. This is not a hotel — it’s a trap. Do yourself a favor: don’t even consider this dump, not for a minute, not even for free. Sleeping at a railway station would be a cleaner, safer, and more respectful experience than this hellhole.

Rooms were not cleaned. Bedsheets and Blankets were not cleaned. We left one day prior to our planned booking.

Unnecessarily expensive, non cooperative staff, very limited options for food. There are other hotels next to it at cheaper rates better facilities and a great breakfast buffet.

stinky room no telephone connection leakage smell and night manager is very rude.

Very good hospitality, staff is really helpful and caring. I booked this accommodation for my parents and they offered complimentary transfer to Banganga.
