Headfort Arms Hotel

Headfort Arms is a perfect base for a short break or for exploring the local historic areas. Rooms are big and spacious, food is excellent, staff very friendly and all at a very reasonable price.

Our visit was part of a birthday celebration for a group of 9 in the hotel restaurant. All, bar the birthday lady, had very pleasant meal experiences. She unfortunately had a well done fillet steak, which was a total disaster. A lump of burnt sinew would be my best description. It should never have been served, the “ chef” had to be aware what was being served. After eating a third of this specimen, I was ( unfortunately) offered a lump. Chewy and tasteless, I gave up chewing after a few minutes and expelled it into a tissue. Two thirds were left uneaten. When made aware of the issue, the server gave a complimentary slice of cheesecake. I am reminded of MarieAntoinette prior to her guillotine experience when she said “ Let them eat cake “!!! Say no more.

Stayed for 2 nights , cannot fault The Hotel , staff are the most helpful & lovely people . Food was fabulous, would definitely return .
