Toraja Misiliana Hotel

We loved this hotel with its local architecture, excellent staff, great food and lovely large rooms. Breakfasts were good with freshly cooked eggs, cereal, fruit, etc. Because we had booked a tour with their sister tour company, Mega Permai, we were upgraded to one of their traditional Torajan cabana with padi fields planted right in front of the room. Such a lovely place to stay and you would struggle to find anywhere nicer. A&H (England)

À l’arrivée le charme opère. Grand hall entièrement ouvert. Les jardins sont là et les célèbres maisons Toraja aussi. Arrivés dans la chambre style bungalow vers la piscine, je découvre des crottes de souris sur la nappe blanche de la table mais aussi sur l’étagère où se trouve la cafetière ainsi que sur le seuil de la sdb. Sdb très vétuste et lavabo plein de fourmis. C’est très sombre et vieillot. De gros travaux de rénovation sont indispensables. De nombreux commentaires en parlent aussi. Nous décidons de repartir immédiatement. Je ne me vois pas dormir dans une chambre avec des souris. Heureusement notre guide était encore présent à l’accueil. Il a expliqué à la réceptionniste que nous ne restions pas et pourquoi. Elle a eu l’air de dire que les souris ce n’était pas si grave. Nous avons eu une chance extraordinaire de trouver une chambre à l’hôtel SANTAY qui est un petit bijoux, une pépite.

Premettendo che la zona non è turistica e che bisogna un po adattarsi, l'hotel di per se è molto carino e pure le stanze sono grandi e pulite. I materassi un po vecchi ma ci si dorme comunque bene. Colazione buona. Personale gentile. Cena triste tipo mensa scolastica (eppure a la carte cucinano piatti tipici Toraja buonissimi) con una musica dal vivo terribile. Piscina enorme ma con aria abbandonata un paio di lettini vecchi e basta. Pochi ascoigamani piccoli in stanza. Siamo rimasti senza carta igienica e ci hanno messo 20 minuti a trovarne un rotolo. Sedie del terrazzino scomodissime per persone alte, adatte forse ai locali. Credo che senza grandi spese, semplicemente mettendo qualche fiore e sdraio in più, due asciugamani in più nelle camere e un menu un po più tipico si arriverebbe a 4 pallini. I pochi turisti che arrivano a Tana Toraja secondo me hanno tutti quei 10 o 20 dollari in più a notte da spendere per stare un pochino meglio! Pensateci...

Bel accueil dans un joli hall. Personnel agréable et attentionné Joli jardin avec des constructions typiques du pays Toraja. Côté piscine, elle ne paraît pas très nette d’autant que des enfants s’y baignent habillés. Côté chambre pourrait être mieux, un peu vieillot et mal insonorisé. Lumière blafarde voire inoppérente pour lire au lit. Literie confortable, Notons un garagiste face à l’hôtel très gênant faisant vrombir des moteurs. Côté restaurant parfait, buffets copieux, variés et d’excellente qualité. Une chanteuse à la voix superbe et agréable accompagne les repas.

Het Toraja Misiliana Hotel is heel ruim opgezet. De kamers zijn schoon maar alles is vrij gedateerd. Het hotel ligt gunstig voor activiteiten in deze bijzondere regio. Het ontbijt is goed. In het hotel heb je de gelegenheid voor een drankje aan de bar. Medewerkers zijn behulpzaam en gastvrij.

it definitely has a cool ambience with the Tongkanen traditional buildings and mountains in background. Wi-Fi was strong ( important in middle of nowhere). I would give the breakfast buffet a 7/10. Bar area was nice. Nice pool area for kids. Things to improve on 1. Information. I was told I could have dinner in the restaurant at 7 PM only to be told at 7 PM that they had a special group there and I couldn’t eat there. 2. Checking the bedroom before your guest gets there. The toilet was loud and was running all night. 3. Checking the electrical. One light took 10 minutes to come on and then on the second night 75% of the outlets didn’t work for charging my phone. Just doing simple room maintenance occasionally would help. 4. Making simple adjustments. There is a little bit of a crack underneath the entrance door, and when I came back the first night, there was a giant slug that had gotten in which was kind of gross but at the same time I realize I’m out in the jungle. However, this wouldn’t happen if the door was fitted properly. Obviously, I know what to expect because the hotel is out in the middle of Tana Toraja but it could improve on a few things
