Twyfelfontein Tented Camp

Okay We booked a tent room on booking but when we arrived the lady told us that the price that we pay is only for the campsite so we had to pay more to have the tent, even if it was not written like that on booking. She was really nice, the tent were comfy and the bathroom okay. The restaurant is not really a restaurant since you don’t really have a choice, no wifi when we came.

Matig verblijf Het is een tentencamp, dat in acht nemend. Het personeel probeert het beste maar het is matig allemaal. Ze zijn niet op de hoogte van je komst van de reeds gedane betalingen. Het komt dan allemaal wel goed maar de prijs pret verhouding is volledig zoek.

Most misleading website We did not stay there. The website is very misleading. No electricity in tents. Tents grubby. No manager on site and could not be contacted. Two workers on site - very helpful but totally untrained for receiving and dealing with bookings. Manager left a message with worker that "it was our choice to book there"! I would not recommend this place to anyone to stay there.

As previous reviews state, this Campsite has moved to this new mountain location and is still under construction. We were not impressed when we arrived - as we had struggled to find the site and were completely underwhelmed with the facilities. We had a campsite with 2 sides of Shadecloth - which provided good shade and protection from the wind. The ablutions still consist of only 1 toilet and 1 shower in unfinished walls, no roof, with canvas doors. As we were the only campers there for 2 nights, it was not too much of a problem. We had water most of the time and the donkey was lit in the morning and evening for hot water. There are lights - but no electricity nor wifi. On the plus side however, it is quiet, it has amazing views and the walks into the mountains around the campsite are breathtaking. Once we settled into the campsite we really enjoyed our stay - as it was a magical place to absorb this beautiful environment. If you expect wild camping - then it is great ...however, if you are expecting amenities of a tented camp, you will definitely be disappointed.

Gruselig: mit Restaurant und wifi wird geworben. Leider nicht vorhanden. Kein Strom verfügbar in der Nacht. Toiletten sind eine Zumutung. Wir haben anstatt 2 nur eine Nacht verbracht, in der wir wenig geschlafen haben. Bar wurde angekündigt, aber es gab weder Wein noch ein zweites Bier…..
