Glasson LakeHouse

We had our wedding at Glasson over the May bank holiday weekend and it was a truly magical experience. In particular, we’d like to mention our wedding coordinator Aileen who was absolutely fantastic throughout the whole planning process. Aileen was always available to answer any questions (no matter how small), she was always polite, good humoured and really went above and beyond in terms of the personal touch. She helped organise 2 rounds of golf and dinner for the groom and family the night before the wedding on top of all her wedding day support which was unnecessary but really appreciated. In terms of the wedding day, we were lucky enough to be able to have our drinks reception outside which was brilliant. We ordered the pre-made cocktails and a number of the guests mentioned how much they enjoyed them. I think the thing that most impressed me about our wedding experience in Glasson was the beautiful glass room upstairs which looks out over the lake. The views are spectacular and the room is beautiful and bright throughout the dinner / evening. The food for dinner was also absolutely fantastic (and totally different to the downstairs menu). This was the other big thing that impressed us about Glasson. The food is simple and beautifully prepared, which is perfect for an Irish wedding! We were also impressed with the service, as it seemed like all tables were served more or less at the same time (despite there being 15 tables). This is definitely not the norm based on my experience of other weddings. Another huge plus of the venue is that the bar is in the main room near to the dance floor. This means that the main room and dance floor feel full throughout the night. In other venues where the bar and dance floor are not near (or in different rooms) the dance floor can feel empty and the atmosphere is not as good for the band. This was one of the big reasons we booked Glasson and it makes a huge difference to the wedding night! All in all, we had a truly special experience with Glasson. We could have not have asked for more from Aileen as our wedding coordinator! Thank you so much for everything!

My review Excellent experience

Lovely Hotel facilities and food wise. Gave it average review due to some of the staff. I think its more an management issue but for a 4 star hotel I would expect the staff to show a bit of pride and interest. Barman expected to make cocktails and serve customer's on his own which means waiting a while to get served if he is busy doing cocktails. Tables in lobby area not cleared and staff member we dealt with not very friendly. Tried to ring reception for room service and no one there to answer.Also hair straightener in our room was faulty. Not all staff were unfriendly the staff for breakfast and dinner were lovely to deal with. Maybe I got him on a bad day. But it's the little details that matter.

We just spent another wonderful weekend at Glasson Lakeshouse! This is our second stay and yet again we arrive home so relaxed! Check in is simply easy and breezy! Rooms are really nice, really clean and very stylish! Both dinner and breakfast really good but my main reason for reviewing is for a big shout to Thomas who is a waiter in Bonnies, He is exceptionally mannerly, very attentive and always ensuring you are enjoying your meal, a truly lovely genuine young man! I work in hospitality as a Sales Manager and my partner comes from a hospitality background and we both agree on the amazing service Thomas provides, which is very hard to find in Irish hotels these days! We are really looking forward to our next stay in Decemeber and to have Thomas look after us again!

We had a very brief but lovely stay at this hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Dining room had lovely views. Dinner & breakfast were most enjoyable. Bedroom had everything you need.

Very nice but could be even better We had a pleasant stay at Glasson Lakehouse Hotel. The room was spacious but beds a little hard. The staff were friendly and helpful. No milk or spoons on table at breakfast was irritating. We thought that the hot tubs were overpriced. The hotel has a lot of nice features but a little more attention to detail would help.
