The Crest Apartments

The Crest Apartments may not be the newest or most luxurious place to stay on Norfolk but we were so happy with our time there. The apartments are very "70s" in decor, but ar clean and well maintained. The kitchen is adequate for a holiday apartment and many extras are to be found in the laundry (such as BBQ equipment). We loved the location, a short walk to Emily Bay, a lovely view from the front of the property where you can sit on a BBQ table under the pines. The apartment was what we needed, a quiet place, away from the main town area.

Comfortable but a little run down. Older accommodation. Clean, spacious, beds comfortable, full kitchen facilities. Didn't see the "rain shower head" in the bathroom though :) . There was however a shower curtain that liked to "get up close and personal". Would be no good for elderly as car parking was 50 meters from the units down a steep grassy hill and poorly lit. Complex operated by the upmarket Governors lodge. Need to collect and drop off keys at the lodge. No reception on site at the crest. We had a few problems with the smoke alarm and DVD player. Very hard to get someone to assist. Simple maintenance items seemed to be overlooked. A shame really. Driveway had huge potholes, light bulbs not replaced, clock had flat battery, Screen door to balcony did not open properly. It is one of the furthest from the main town. not that this was very far. Less than 8 Kms. The Governors Lodge charged our room before we arrived which we had not agreed to. We were going to use another Credit card and split payment etc. We were unable to obtain a copy of our receipt for this payment. Disappointing. Overall, I would stay again but for the price charged, you could find much better accommodation options on the island.

The apartment look like the were built early 70tys they are in need of a total Reno the stove was so old the oven was in was in F not C The toilet we an old fashion full flush BUT they have sign asking to conserve the water

Was a 3 bdrm apartment with plenty of room. Older decor but clean and tidy. Location was good, did need the car that was provided to travel and site see. Wouldn't really matter where you stay on the island you really need a car. The grounds were beautiful with a lovely view from our room (14) towards hills. The ocean view was spectacular across the grounds near the carpark. The chickens kept you entertained climbing the trees to roost at night. Would recommend staying here.

Had a week here while COVID was on, and so pleased that on the day we were due to go home, staff on our New Zealand flight had COVID, what a shame, yippee said me, another few days in paradise. Will return
