Oh my word. From Janet’s kindness on check-in, to the comfiest pillows and freshest bedding, where does one start with a review? I’d start with BOOK DIRECT. Internet will find this place and book you in but PLEASE don’t book third party! This place should not lose out through charges to booking companies. The welcome you’ll get is lovely. The room for the rate charged is exceptional. The hospitality, bed linen, pillows and cleanliness are outstanding. Facilities also exceed expectations- fridge, microwave and Freeview TV in a room at this rate is unbelievable! Local amenities/take-away are incredibly convenient if needed. I wish I could have stayed longer and will definitely recommend and return.

We booked this place on the quality of the reviews ,what a mistake ! We did not stay but left immediately. The place is up for sale and the room we had ( 7 ) was awful , it is very dated and in need of decoration ,maintenance and new furniture. The dining kitchen is being worked on ,windows boarded up ,some unit fronts off ,tools and materials lying about ,a work in progress the host said ! ,three breakfast tables were made up in there ! Had we known all this we would never have booked . The 1 star is for the balcony overlooking the garden which sadly we never got to use . We left very angry , dismayed and in disbelief at the reviews that encouraged us to choose the place . Steve and Selina

Fabulous accommodation, very clean and rooms spacious. Fridge and microwave in the room, we stayed in room 4 which was very spacious. Janet was very helpful and we would defferently stay again if ever we need accommodation in the area.

Just spent a lovely week in room 7 on the top floor with a balcony overlooking the garden. Total peace . Nice room with comfy bed. Decent sized cups, microwave and a fridge. I've travelled a lot for my job and this room has the best amenities I've come. It is also on a main bus route for town,York or Beverley so you can dump your car in the large parking area.
