Plato’s provided the perfect place to stay when attending a friend’s wedding in late June. Incredibly helpful and friendly staff, lovely comfortable and attractive room, complete with wooden beams, and cosy bar and restaurant at the foot of the stairs. We dined in on the non wedding night and enjoyed the atmosphere created by an excellent live singer. Duck and steak were cooked to our requirements and followed tasty scotch egg and mushroom starters. Breakfast was available until 10 each morning which made for a relaxing get up and we had the tasty granola, fruit compote and yoghurt opener as cooked breakfasts of full English and eggs Benedict were prepared. A large and tasty pot of coffee was a great accompaniment. In small towns like Kirkby Lonsdale parking can be tricky but a laminated pass sorted out free parking a short walk from the hotel. Plenty of tea and coffee choices in the bedroom and lovely big bath towels. Bath and shower options and shower powerful and easily controlled. We left delighted with our choice and would happily go back in the future.

I organised a celebration lunch here for 18 people and we had a wonderful afternoon. The service was friendly and efficient, the food was delicious and well-presented, and the cocktails were fab! When the team needed to rearrange the dining area for the evening service, they kindly set up tables for us in the cosy wine cellar so we could continue our festivities without having to move on and try to find somewhere else that could accommodate us all. Highly recommended.
