The breakfast was very good all freshly cooked, we had one evening Meal and again it was really nice, the staff were brilliant. Very well located and very clean, a brilliant 3 nights, only complete was the taps in the sink were very slow and difficult to change from hot and cold, but that’s just a minor complaint,

This is a excellent friendly hotel. Location is perfect for Kirkby Lonsdale and surrounding areas. The staff were so friendly and made us feel very welcomed. The room was spotless with plenty of refreshments and biscuits. The breakfast was excellent, freshly cooked, really tasty. Again the morning staff and chef made us feel very welcome. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again. Thank you to all staff.

Wow, Plato's, thank you for our excellent stay and being spoilt by all the team. My husband and I, plus my two sister in laws and their husbands, stayed for two nights towards the end of April 2025. We had an absolutely fabulous stay, with everyone at Plato's pulling out all the stops to - nothing was too much trouble. Plato's even sorted out a link so we could watch a recent football match. The food was cooked to perfection, with a good choice. The rooms where so comfortable and to a very high standard. We will go and stay again, and l will recommend Plato's to all my friends. Our 3 rd stay at Plato’s, so you can guess we like it ! This is a great little hotel right in the centre of beautiful Kirkby Lonsdale. Ideally located for exploring the Lake District or even better the Yorkshire Dales. Family run, it provides guests with superb service in a relaxed atmosphere. Rooms are very comfortable. Quality beds too. There’s a small bar with a great selection of draught beers and good wines. Food here is delicious. Our breakfasts have been top quality. Superbly cooked with quality ingredients. We can’t vouch for evening meals but understand they are of the same high quality. Special mention to Arina. This is multitasking at its highest level, with a great smile and positive attitude. She is Great. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel - it’s a gem !

Excellent staff, very helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble, and rooms clean and tidy, breakfast was fabulous, would highly recommend staying at Plato’s and we will return, great value for money and excellent location is Kirkby Lonsdale

The location is excellent, being in the middle of the town. We were met, and welcomed by John, the owner, who showed us to our room and explained where everything was. John also explained how the car park permit worked, the car park is about 100 yards up the road. The room was clean and nicely decorated. Dinner was excellent, as was breakfast. Everyone tried to make our visit enjoyable.

We stayed at Plato's on Easter Sunday and would definitely stay again. The staff and especially Tony the owner were really caring and helpful. Our evening meal was excellent apparently a new Chef. And also the breakfast was good. Lovely weekend

Beautiful room bed and pillows were lovely great staff we will be back Platos is in the centre of town and is an ideal spot for exploring the surrounding area if you choose to stay at Platos you will not be disappointed good choice for breakfast

We found this place on TripAdvisor (thank you TA!) when we were looking for an overnight stop not too far from the M6. Kirkby Lonsdale is a lovely town with a great community feel to it. Playto’s is just one of the hotels here and it offers great value for money- rooms are well decorated and very clean. Plenty of variety for tea and coffee in the bedroom and high end soaps in the bathroom. All in all a sumptuous stay with a great team and a breakfast we couldn’t do justice to sadly. Lovely walks near by - would recommend a stay here.
