Máttaráhkká Northern Light Lodge

Better than advertised!! Flawless experience from start to finish...The accommodations are perfect-comfortable lodge rooms, with big windows in order to view the night skies... The food (thank you, chef Joel) was wonderful, particularly his moose stew. The activities were awesome and well organized, and we cannot wait to return again perhaps in summer. Thanks to Mikko and family and staff for creating and maintaining a most excellent adventure experience!!! We also appreciated being outfitted with great arctic gear (winter coat, snowpants, boots, gloves, balaclava), so no need to bring those things if you are staying at Mattarahkka!!

Wow, wow and wow. My wife and I are fortunate to travel well and this is has to be one of the best experiences we have ever had - ever! From the moment we got off the plane and arrived at the airport to the minute we were dropped off back at the airport, nothing was too much. we were e-mailed an itinerary and upon arrival it was completely changed to give us the best chance to see the 'lights'. The experiences were fantastic, and we saw the lights in their absolute brilliance thanks to Fabio, Rachel, and Mikko. As a once in a lifetime experience this was made to feel that way, and was. If I was to go back to see the Northern lights, I would not go anywhere else! Lovely stay and made to feel vey special. The trips were well organised and our safety was paramount to the team. If you get to experience the lights like we did, then it is the icing on the cake.

Lovely staff and place. As they cater to helicopter trips it was sometimes hard to find staff for assistance but super friendly and picturesque. Very clean as well.

Lodge a circa 5 km da Kiruna in direzione Narvik, con 7 camere accoglienti con soppalco, ha pienamente soddisfatto le nostre aspettative. Buona colazione e cene veramente interessanti di cui due su tre sere servite nel tepee Sami. Il Lodge offre anche in abbinamento al soggiorno delle attività gestite da Adventure Lapland quali Dog Sledge, uscite in motoslitta e caccia all'aurora boreale. Grazie a Fabio e Mikko per averci fatto sentire come a casa...della mamma. Ci torneremo di sicuro.

Le Mattarahkka est un lodge de 7 chambres doubles. Les chambres ne sont pas grandes mais fonctionnelles. Les lits sont très confortables. Il manque peut-être une armoire pour y ranger les habits - mais il n'y a pas vraiment de place pour en mettre une. La salle de bains privative est très petite mais il y a douche, wc et lavabo. C'est parfait ! Sur une mezzanine, il y a un petit coin salon - tv, avec possibilité de voir les aurores boréales (si on a de la chance !). En janvier, il faisait assez frais dans la chambre. Le petit déjeuner et le souper (si on prend cette option), sont pris dans une salle à manger juste à côté des chambres. Le petit déjeuner buffet est bon et chacun y trouve son bonheur. Les soupers sont faits avec des produits de la région. Il y a un plat et un dessert. Il faut compter environ CHF. 50.- par personne pour le souper, ce qui est assez cher. On peut se reposer dans un salon commun avec cheminée. C'est un endroit très agréable où l'on peut échanger avec d'autres vacanciers, prendre un verre, faire des jeux. Il vaut la peine d'essayer le jacuzzi sur le toit et si vous restez plusieurs jours et faites des activités au froid (organisées via le lodge), on vous prête tout le matériel chaud pour sortir (anorack super chaud, pantalon très chaud, bottes, gants, bonnet). Le personnel est très sympathique et ouvert à discuter de la région et des traditions locales. Je recommande vivement cet endroit !

Prendre le package complet (programme annexé). Atmosphère familiale, hôtes attentionnés et gentils, nourriture locale et très bonne. Chambres petites mais cosy et calmes. Auréoles boréales garanties !
