LaLaanta Hideaway Resort

Einzig die Lage ist gut. Anfahrtsweg sehr weit und die letzten 200 Meter äußerst spannend und holprig (bedeutet ohne Rolle o.ä. nicht möglich zu anderen Restaurants zu kommen). Das Personal und die komplette Anlage (Bungalow, Pool) ist eine totale Enttäuschung für den Preis und war mit Abstand das schlechteste Hotel auf unserer 3,5 wöchigen Thailandreise (generell noch nie so ein schlechtes Hotel gehabt, egal ob Asien/Indonesien/Afrika/Karibik etc.) Die Bilder auf den Buchungsseiten sind leider komplett verfälscht. Max 1 eher 0 Sterne. Leider durch die Speedboatverspätung erst abends im Dunkeln angekommen, aber schon da hat man erkennen können, dass alles dreckig und komplett heruntergekommen ist. Das Bett ist eine dünne, komplett durchgelegene Matratze auf dem dreckigen Boden (komplett weich). Vor dem Abendessen an der "Rezeption" vorbei und darum gebeten, dass der Bungalow bitte geputzt werden soll und ob das Thema weiche Bett verbessert werden kann. Die Dame war sofort unfreundlich/abweisend und meinte jemand kümmert sich darum. Im Restaurant, leider die einzige Möglichkeit zum Essen am Abend, die nächste Überraschung. In beiden Hauptgerichten hatten wir Haare, auch noch nie erlebt in Thailand, egal ob Straßenküche oder Restaurant. War dem Personal auch egal als man dies angesprochen hatte! Im Bungalow wieder angekommen wurde natürlich nichts gemacht. Am nächsten Tag vor dem Frühstück an der Rezeption vorbeigegangen und da wurden wir gefragt ob denn nun alles passt, als wir dies verneint haben das gleiche Spiel von vorne. Sofort unfreundlich und es würde sich jemand darum kümmern . Frühstück bekomme ich in jedem Hostel oder 7elevn ein besseres. Das einzig Positive im Anschluss war der verlassene Strand, aber der Liegebereich vom Hotel auf kein "Luxus". Als sich bis 12Uhr niemand um den Bungalow gekümmert hatte, haben wir Kontakt zu einem 5 Sternehotel (wirklich Luxus) aufgenommen und ein Zimmer für die restlichen 4 Nächte inklusive Abholung gebucht. Bis auf ein paar Hundert Baht den gleichen Preis wie im LaLaanta gezahlt. Beim Check out wurde keine Frage gestellt, warum man frühzeitig abreist etc. Ein großer Dank an Booking, wir hatten innerhalb von 3 Tagen das komplette Geld für die LaLaanta Unterkunft zurückerstattet bekommen!

This is a relative small resort. The resort consists of around 20 bungalows in the forest. Bungalows are comfortable and rather spacious. There is a nice swimming pool with sunbeds and views of the sea. The restaurant is located right on the beach. The beach is beautiful and quiet as this is the only hotel located at this beach. You can swim in the sea at low tide and high tide (unlike some beaches that have many rocks). We were here during the Xmas break and it never felt busy. It is far away from most of the island which makes it quiet and relaxing, however, if you want to enjoy nightlife or try out different restaurants a more centrally located hotel might be better suited.

This was our last stop on a special holiday, hopping across a few different islands. We’d stayed in some wonderful places so were a bit nervous to see if this could top them. From the moment we got picked up from the ferry our experience was perfect. The driver was lovely and knowledgeable. As we drove through to our accommodation we were a bit worried as Koh Lanta seemed very busy and westernised but we needn’t have been. The bungalows are on a remote beach and off the beaten track. The place itself is beautiful and small enough to ensure it’s not too busy with the resort pretty much having the entire, beautiful beach to itself. You also have the benefit of the jungle and the monkeys, lizards and birds. It really special sitting and watching the monkeys play at sunset. The food is outstanding too! Finally a special mention for June and her pets. We love animals and, missing ours, to be able to relax with the super friendly cats and dogs was the icing on the cake. June was so friendly and helpful…a special special place. Thank you!

The staff led by June are friendly, efficient and helpful at this remote beach beauty. The cabins are simple but have everything you need. Book a massage and then while away the day in a hammock, have a cocktail and enjoy the spectacular sunsets.

LaLaanta is truly a very special place. We were lucky enough to have booked one of the Sand Castle Villas, which had a prime view of both pools and the sea. From the moment we arrived on Koh Lanta, the service we were provided with was excellent. I arranged a pick up from the pier, and before we knew it we had arrived in paradise. The food is delicious at LaaLanta, we'd definitely recommend the Pad Thai with prawns, the Vietnamese fresh spring rolls, and the red/green/yellow curries. The staff were all so friendly and attentive, and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in a few places whilst visiting Thailand, and LaaLanta was hands down our favourite spot. We loved it. We stayed for 2 nights in a pool/sea view bungalow. We found all the staff very friendly and helpful. The food was good and well priced. The resort is on the far south of the west coast and has a long white sandy beach and great sunsets. The 2 pools are nice for a cool down from the heat. My only slight niggle are steps in the room from the bed area to the living space and then again down to the bathroom. A real trip hazard at night.
