Hotels in Kai Bae Beach, Koh Chang

The place is quite lovely, and the staff is polite mand always ready to assist the guests. It is super clean and tidy, and the food is amazing. However, there are things that I cannot overlook. The Internet is one of them, we did not have an internet connection at this hotel. The wifi signal is horrible. There are too many ants. We had a room on the fourth floor, and they managed to climb up there. If you leave some food on the table or a desk, there should be an ant party within 30 minutes. The place is kinda old, it doesn't feel like a four-star place. Some things are outdated. The restaurant is pretty expensive compared to the other restaurants close by (mango sticky rice is 200 compared to an average 100 outside)and the beach bar was closed due the renovation. We had fun here and we will be back. I highly recommend this place for families. This is not a critique but a guideline on how to improve. Cheers!

I have been many times in this hotel over the years, and I keep coming back! The hotel is on a cliff, with a beach at the bottom. There are 2 swimming pools. The rooms are spacious and all give a view over the sea. Breakfast is in the top building, where a mountain cabin goes from the bottom building, to avoid a steep walk up or down. The grounds are a well kept garden, which could compete with a botanic garden. During the night you hear crickets and frogs, and all kind of other jungle noises. Monies visit the grounds as well, looking for fruits. If you leave a door open to the balcony, you can have a monkey visiting your room, and stealing an apple or other visible fruit. It is a very children safe place as well, as there are no cars nor motorbikes allowed on the grounds, apart from the parking. This is the place to go in Koh Chang!

The hotel is cool. Different types of rooms. Everything is clean, cozy. Two pools, few people. The views are gorgeous. You can go kayaking for 150 baht per hour to the neighboring island. Cons: Average breakfasts. The sea is shallow and in the morning there was always low tide in the sea and it was impossible to swim in the sea, if you go up to your knees then there are stones (corals), our legs were hurt. Maybe at this time of year it is only like this, and at other times it is better, but this is not certain)) The location is remote from the village, you can walk by sea when the tide is low. If you go by tuk tuk then it costs 100 baht per person. Conclusions: If you want privacy, nature, good views then take this hotel. If you want to walk around cafes in the evening, etc. then this hotel is not an option. Only if you have a bike

Very clean, freshly renovated rooms (building K). Each room has a hot pot kettle. But mattresses are quite hard. Fresh water, shampoo, toilet paper and trash bags daily. Good breakfast buffet. Always different kinds of one of each: soup, fried rice, noodles, vegetable and chicken dish. Three types of fruit and salad bar. However, there is only one person preparing eggs and pancakes, which results in a long queue. And only instant coffee. Location is nice, but the hotel doesn’t practically have its own beach (as well as pool, sun beds and beach towels). During the low tide, it’s impossible to swim due to bushes of seaweed. The beach is nice for morning swims and evening walks. Also elephants are brought there for a swim multiple times a day.

The hotel's location is decent, with a 7/11, cafes, restaurants, and everything a tourist could need within easy reach. Unfortunately, we weren't thrilled or even satisfied with our stay. We stayed in budget rooms. Our room had very poor lighting; the small, frosted windows let in minimal natural light, and the artificial lighting within the room was also extremely dim. Overall, the room didn't feel cozy at all; it was like living in a cave. Perhaps this was due to the low season, but it felt like the hotel was in a semi-abandoned state; the pool's jacuzzi and fountains weren't working at all, and the grounds were poorly maintained. For about 3-4 days, what we presumed to be monkey droppings lay in the chill-out area near the budget rooms, and no one bothered to clean them up 🙃. The hotel staff themselves were nice and very friendly; we had no issues with them. The problem, we believe, lies with the higher management, who seem to have neglected the entire hotel. It's also important to note that the hotel is virtually integrated into the jungle, resulting in a lot of wildlife, including monkeys, on the grounds.

Nice room and decent hotel. Breakfast looks better than it tastes. The warm daily dishes are disappointing and there is absence of good Thai food. The bread, deli meat, cheeses, bread and salad choices are fine. Eggs and waffles are made to order and they are fine. Restaurant is not air conditioned and has small fans which add very little ventilation. Had issues twice with air conditioning and tub. Maid kept room very clean and made towels into pretty shapes along with flowers on bed. Made mistake of coming in May and it was miserably hot and most chairs are not shielded from the sun. The beach although beautiful is very narrow and filled with large rocks and coral so not good for walking or swimming. Had to walk down beach to find a better beach area but it lacked shade. If you can get the room without the 300 baht each normal charge I would suggest it. We had one day nearby in a cheaper hotel because we arrived late. Problem we had in May is there very few breakfast choices near either hotel. Very few street food vendors and mainly overpriced western food. Took several days to find good Thai food. I would recommend Koh Kood if you are alone. Better beaches and cheaper foods

Удобное расположение в центре побережья на границе между дикими пляжами и благоустроенными. Сам отель - одноэтажное здание с секциями тайстайл. Интерьер спартанский но все чисто, без насекомых и запахов. Заселялся дистанционно - позвонил, сказали номер комнаты. Выезжал так де. Депозитов не берут. Большая проблема с парковкой.

It was such a pleasant stay located in Kaibae which is my favorite area when I stay in Koh chang. The price is too good to be real comparing to what you get, free breakfast, clean nice budget room, very polite staff, great location, 4 pools in the property?? It's just insane to me!!

The breakfast in the hotel is average, but the sea view is not bad. In the small house on the second floor, there will be elephants passing by the sea around 4pm, and you can ride an elephant for a fee. The beach on the seaside is quite fine. If you have good water quality, you can consider putting on a life jacket to swim to the opposite island in the morning. I heard that you can rent a boat at the hotel to ski over. Even after the late rising tide, it’s too far and tired. After going out from the hotel to the main convenience store, there is a restaurant that is delicious and cheap.
