Sorobon Luxury Beach Resort

We have been to Bonaire previously, so we knew we just wanted to relax and let our 18-yr old try some snorkeling. We were able to get a beach bed and 2 chairs - I think each chair was $20 and the bed was $40. They came with towels and a bottle of water for each one (bed was a large bottle of water for 2 people) and was under a palapa. It wasn't crowded at all. Service was a bit hard - we were told to grab where we wanted to lounge and they'd be by to open tab, give water, towels. We waited about 45 minutes before anyone even stopped by. (they DO take American Express, FYI). But, again, it wasn't too crowded, and we were chilling. Husband & 18-yr old daughter grabbed snorkel stuff & headed out - they had to walk pretty far into the water - VERY SHALLOW!! but, they did see some fish and had a great time! Son (16) and I just chilled under the palapa as it was HOT out! We did try the Royal Club Cassis soda drink - DELICIOUS!!! Sodas were ~$4 each. We ordered some little bites - tzatziki and bread, and 2 orders of potstickers (6 on each plate), i think each bite plate was ~$12. They were decent. Wouldn't rush back for the bites, but held us over as it was close to lunchtime. We stayed for about 3 hours. If we did another cruise that went to Bonaire, we would definitely do this again as it was super relaxing. Service was so-so - my 16-yr old mentioned that all the servers were young, blond ladies - so he enjoyed it! ;-) We wanted to drive to the Cadushy Distillery after this, so we packed up & headed to Rincon. This seemed GREAT for little kids as Bonaire is otherwise pretty rocky & wavy ... the water looked super calm and it was very shallow for quite a ways out.

We stayed at Sorobon for a week and had the most lovely time. The staff were extremely professional, kind and considerate. The accommodations were clean, comfortable, modern and located 10 seconds from the beach. We felt like we had the whole resort to ourselves and if we ever needed anything the staff was happy to help. Everyday we enjoyed a beautiful breakfast right on the beach (see photo!) and got to watch the windsurfers do amazing tricks. If you are interested in windsurfing the local school is a 30 second walk and there is a reef full of colorful fish right across the bay. Honestly I wouldnt want to stay anywhere else in the Caribbean! Absolute paradise!

Vierde keer hier in Sorobon, en nog altijd even content. ’t Is hier echt een zalige plek om tot rust te komen. Alles klopt: de mensen zijn super vriendelijk, altijd behulpzaam, maar nooit opdringerig. Je voelt je hier echt welkom. De ligging is top, zo pal aan dat prachtig helder water. De huisjes zijn prachtig, stijlvol en comfortabel – wakker worden met zicht op de lagune, daar word je gewoon gelukkig van. Het strand is mooi en rustig, met goeie ligbedden. Ze komen regelmatig vragen of je iets wil drinken of eten, zonder dat je het gevoel hebt dat ze iets willen aansmeren. En nu zitten we in de beach bar. Lekker drankje, goeie muziek, er draait een DJ – echt een leuke sfeer. Het eten is trouwens ook super lekker, vers en met zorg klaargemaakt. Voor ons is Sorobon zo’n plek waar je altijd naar terug wilt. En da doen we dus ook.

Dit nieuwe restaurant en bar is een absolute aanrader! Vanaf het moment dat je binnenstapt, voel je de gezellige en hippe sfeer die de plek zo uniek maakt. Overdag is het al fijn vertoeven, maar ‘s avonds, met de sfeervolle lampjes, wordt het nog magischer. Het eten? Fenomenaal! Ik genoot van een poke bowl die letterlijk de beste was die ik ooit gegeten heb—verse ingrediënten, perfect op smaak gebracht en prachtig gepresenteerd. Tijdens het diner bleef de kwaliteit indrukwekkend hoog, vooral de verse vis die absoluut top was. De bediening was vriendelijk en vlot, precies zoals je hoopt in een fijne eetervaring. En dan het uitzicht ongeëvenaard! Een panoramisch zicht dat je nergens anders vindt en de hele beleving nog specialer maakt.
