The Lodge Bonaire

ok for one night , no longer

We stayed in room 2 at the Lodge for two nights on our 12 day trip to the island. The rooms were barren and empty, the lights were different colors in the same fixtures, the design was shabby and only the bathrooms were decent. The beds have iron springs and were uncomfortable, the rooms didn’t feel clean even though there supposedly is regular cleaning. The WiFi is only accessible from the common space in the courtyard and is very spotty. The brochure in the room starts off with that water and electricity is expensive on the island so to use both as little as possible. Also the brochure states if you’d like to use the airconditioning 24/7 that is a surcharge of 15$ per day! Furthermore you’re not allowed to flush your toilet paper and need to toss them into a bin which don’t get emptied frequently, this causes the bathrooms to stink. We felt as if we had wasted 3 days of our holiday by staying here. The service and facilities are poor and need to be improved. We did not enjoy our stay here at all and it felt as if we had wasted our money and precious days of our holiday! If you only want the bare minimum give it a chance. If you’re looking for something enjoyable and nice look elsewhere!

Dit was het slechtste verblijf wat ik ooit heb gehad bij aankomst ( na 11 uur te hebben gereisd ) me gezinslid had afgesproken om in te checken om 10.30 toen we aan kwamen waren de kamers nog niet klaar en we konden onze spullen ook nergens neer zetten. Vervolgens kwamen we aan we wouden graag douchen maar het douche gordijn was beschimmeld en de badkamer was verder heel vies vol met schimmel toen we wouden slapen konden 2 gezinsleden niet slapen doet dat er een kuil in het metras zat en toen gingen ze maar in de auto maar slapen. Toen moest mijn moeder nog met een man de matrassen en beden gaan verwisselen. Echt ongehoorzaam. Later hadden we weer een hele plas water voor de deur en die vrouw zij tegen ons “waarom hebben jullie niet gebeld ik ben 24/7 bereikbaar wij haar bellen nooit meer iets van gehoord terwijl ze zij dat ze 24/7 bereik baar was. Oftewel GA HIER NIET HEEN.
