I did a 3 days trekking in the jungle with them and it was an incredible experience. I highly recommend it!!! It was really nice having the oportunity of exploring the jungle with people that live there. They guide you through the jungle and they cook for you nice dishes. It's wonderful to see the thousand uses they get from bamboo.

Puthea and his wife are great and welcoming. I did a 2 day 1 night trek via GH and I highly recommend it. It was great, the guide was very nice and Puthea organized the trek well. Bus tickets are available. Puthea explains everything to you, he takes time to speak with you. The room is clean, the food is good, the dinner is plentiful. If you come to Banlung, honestly don’t hesitate to sleep here 🙂

So… where should I begin? After a good 4 months of travelling, I kinda needed a break I guess. I had this thought in my head that I would do this in Thailand after my Cambodian travels. But after staying here for 2 days, I knew this was THE place. From the first moment this place felt different from all the other places I’ve stayed at. Mr. Puthea and the lovely Heak are honestly some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. They are an excellent gateway to experience Cambodian culture and provide their guests with an unmatched hospitable environment. When I told Mr. Puthea that I wanted to stay here for longer, he helped me with everything. He recommended me a travel agency which extended my visa, showed me around town, told me about all the tourist attractions I could do,.. He genuinely wants the best for his guests and no effort is too much for him. So in total I stayed here for exactly 3 weeks and I enjoyed Heak’s food every day. The baguette with egg and cheese and the fruit platter are a perfect start of the day (see pictures). Tea is complimentary and a cup of some very decent Mondulkirian coffee costs only $0,75. Also the family dinner at 7PM never disappointed. Heak serves a healthy and delicious home cooked meal which is enjoyed by fellow travellers around the same table. Both breakfast or dinner cost only $2,50. Beer, coffee, cola and water (1,5l!) cost $0,75. I slept about half of the nights in the dorm and about half of the nights, per my request, in a hammock outside. The dorm is clean and with only 4 single beds you don’t have to adapt to other people too much. Due to a very strict budget I, unlike almost everyone else, did not partake in the trekking. I do can say that I only heard nice things about it from all the guests! As a solo-traveler I couldn’t have wished for a better place to take a brake from travelling, whilst also being submerged in the local culture. I lost my heart to both of the town of Ban Lung and the wonderful family that is behind Familyhouse & Trekking. I’m already looking forward to come here again one day in the not so near future.

incredible stay with Mr Puthea and his family. they are very hospitable and kind people. we highly recommend coming to sleep in this guesthouse if you are in Banlung. the rooms are spacious, clean and quiet. the dinners are excellent and the breakfasts very hearty. Mr Puthea can help you organize your buses, your activities (trek) and scooter rental. best value for money in the whole country. Thanks for your kindness.

Allez y les yeux fermés! superbe séjour dans la famille de Puthea, un gros point fort sur l'aide à l'organisation qui apporte une légèreté au séjour ( il est venu nous chercher à 6AM car nous arrivions par un bus de nuit, il propose même des transferts jusqu'au Laos, et organise aussi des trekkings ! ( finalement nous n'avons pas payé la nuit où nous sommes partis en trek chose très honnête et gentil de la part de cette Guesthouse ) sans parler de son extrême gentillesse. La propreté des chambres est aussi à relever, c'est l'un des endroits les plus propres dans lequel nous avons dormi après un mois au Cambodge. La nourriture proposé est excellente, encore un grand merci pour ce dernier séjour dans ce pays fabuleux

Welcome Home says the sign above the entrance. And it is exactly like coming home. Pu Thea and his wife are warm & welcoming people. You can expect a cosy dining room and great food. We also recommend to do a jungle trekking. We did the deep jungle trek and it was a great experience. Everything is perfectly organised for a reasonable price.
