Terrible Experience – Rude Staff, Poor Service, and Cash-Only Deposit Policy
This hotel was a huge disappointment. First, the reception demanded a 100 MYR deposit – cash only and strictly in local currency. No cards accepted, no exceptions. This was never mentioned in advance, and during my previous stay, they had accepted other currencies. Now, they’ve changed the rules without any notice.
The staff was extremely rude and unhelpful about it. When I explained I didn’t have local cash, they simply shrugged and told me to find an ATM – which ended up charging exorbitant transaction fees. No courtesy, no alternatives offered, just a very cold and unfriendly attitude.
In particular, the male head of staff at the front desk—overweight and visibly irritated—was especially rude and dismissive. Instead of helping or explaining policies politely, he seemed annoyed by basic questions and responded with condescension. It left a very unpleasant impression.
To make things worse, I had paid for breakfast during the booking, but every single morning, I was asked to show my booking confirmation again. It clearly wasn’t recorded properly in their system, and it felt like they didn’t trust their guests. The whole experience was tiring and unprofessional.
Another frustrating aspect was the flooring – the hallways are covered with thick, fluffy carpets that make it extremely difficult to roll trolley luggage. It’s a small thing, but after a long journey, even small inconveniences like this add up.
Would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially international travelers. Poor management, unfriendly service, and outdated, inconvenient policies.
