We stayed at this hotel from 12 to 13 July for what was meant to be a special birthday celebration—but it turned into a nightmare, and on the birthday itself.
After dining at M Lounge and later ordering in-room dining around 10pm, my partner began experiencing severe vomiting and diarrhea just a few hours later. It was clearly acute food poisoning. By the next morning, we had to rush to a clinic, where he was diagnosed with foodborne illness and treated with IV fluids due to dehydration. He also had to take medical leave from work.
What made the situation even worse was the complete lack of support from the hotel. No medical help was offered, no emergency response, not even a follow-up to check on his condition. We were left entirely on our own to deal with a medical emergency during our stay. We did request medication from the hotel, clearly indicating that something was wrong (which they later denied we did not make any report to them). At the very least, a trained team at a 5-star hotel should have followed up on that.
We couldn’t enjoy any of the room facilities or breakfast, both of which we had paid for. The entire experience was distressing and extremely disappointing—this level of carelessness should never happen at a hotel of this standard.
To make matters worse, the hotel later denied responsibility, citing internal food safety protocols and claiming no similar reports. Very, very disappointing.
