Taj Kumarakom Resort and Spa Kerala

We stayed at Taj Kumarakom for 4 nights. The property is quiet, pristine, and full of old-world charm, with beautiful views of the canal right from our cottage. Waking up each morning and sitting out with our cup of tea, watching the canal with drizzling raindrops and chirping birds, was an absolute delight — calm and deeply restorative. This is a beautifully maintained heritage property, with a layout that feels very open and private. The resort is spread across ~15 acres, but with just around 28 rooms, it never feels crowded. Chef Sabin, ***** with Alan from the service team, took exceptional care of our dietary preferences. Each meal was custom-tailored with local Kerala flavours, full of warmth and creativity. They went out of their way to ensure we were well taken care of. Everything out of their kitchen was exceptional. The filter coffee served during evening tea was easily one of the best I’ve ever had. The entire team, led by Mr. Vinpogal, is incredibly warm, accessible, and genuinely attentive. Housekeeping was spotless, and the activity team was always ready with bikes and big smiles — we loved cycling around the resort. A big shoutout to how prompt and efficient the service was across every department. We casually asked for a fan at the sit-out — it was installed in under 2 minutes. Another time, we requested some honey and lemon — again, delivered in less than 2 minutes. That kind of service, with such consistency, easily beats even the high standards Taj is known for. Any feedback we shared was acknowledged and actioned immediately, which says a lot about the culture of the place. The location is perfect — backwater canals and the bird sanctuary are just a short walk away. Several local shikara boat rides are available just 2 minutes from the gate. Spa treatments were very nice as well. We will definitely plan to return — and next time, for longer. I had a fantastic time at Taj Kumarakom Resorts and Spa. The staff members were exceptionally courteous and polite. The room was spotless, offering a breathtaking view of the lagoon. I'd like to extend my special thanks to Priya and her front office team for arranging a shikkara ride for us. There are also plenty of activities available on the property.

Excellent care and fun for kids. Comfortable rooms and courtesy beyond compare. Chindlren were the happiest here. Dance entertainment is great too

Staff is really friendly. Special mention to Chef Abhi for his recommendations and personalised food experience. Another mentioned to Ajay for performing card tricks and cheerful spirit. Gym and activity room needs to be improved.

Best place to stay with your family. Enjoy the traditional food. We enjoyed the resort. Safe & healthy surroundings for kids. Scenic view of cottage on the banks of vemband lake. Monsoon made our stay pleasant. Recommend for family and kids to have a great time.

The location is amazing and rooms are big clean with good amenities Service starting from the reception to the restaurant house keeping is all excellent we enjoyed our stay loved the breakfast n the food was very good. The girls at the reception the Manager and all the staff very helpful.
