"Not worth the price at all. The block is really good But the service was terrible"

The Shoal Hotel la Jolla Beach ★★

"The bed was way too soft and there was no real blanket cover. The water pressure in the shower was too low and our room had basicely no daylight because it was in a sort of tunnel. The location and the staff were very good though."

"The rooms are small cabins, but the highlight is the golf course. However, you need to book a month in advance. Parking is $50 per night. There are also miscellaneous resort fees. At $4000 per night without breakfast, it's a bit pricey. It's a pity we didn't hike the trail; we'll make up for it next time. It's very close to UCSD."

"The service was very good. I felt that the bath towels were not particularly clean, but everything else was good. Breakfast was ordered on the top floor. The view was great and it was delicious. The balcony was very nice to see the sea view, although it was very windy hahahaha"

Sands of la Jolla ★★

"This hotel completely changed my opinion about drive-in hotels, I highly recommend it! The rooms are huge, and the heated swimming pool is right outside the French doors – it's beautiful. The rooms are also very large and clean. I love drive-in hotels!!! It's so convenient to drag luggage around. fyi: If you check out very early in the morning, the check-out box is near the right wall of the glass door facing the reception area; it's not very noticeable, it took me a while to find it!"
