Lake Bennett Resort

Think 80's summer camp. When they say "visitors welcome to swim" they mean "you can swim IF you buy an overpriced lunch". Such false advertising wouldn't matter so much if they didn't lure people 80km from Darwin to do it. If you're going as a day trip ignore the sign and DONT sign in at reception.

The meal was fabulous, well cooked steak! Cocktails were very enjoyable, lovely sunset over the lake. Staff very friendly and personable. We paddled up for dinner from our bungalow on the lake - some lighting to see the lake shimmer would be magical. Would definitely come back 🎣❤️

An absolutely beautiful spot only an hour from Darwin,like a different world. If you need to get away to relax and want to safely swim this is a highly recommended spot. The accom is either at the resort or individually managed bungalows. The food at the restaurant is delicious and service is friendly

Well what a hidden gem we found here... beautiful lake & stunning views from the decking & pool overlooking the lake, fantastic sunset too... Dinner in the restaurant was delicious, staff were super friendly & went out of their way to help us... amenities spotlessly clean.... this wonderful place is a work in progress in some areas but can't wait to come back again to see how it has all taken shape. Our caravan site was great with a morning sunrise just in front of us..... Thanks again for having us :)

We did not stay there but we did call in for our last night in Litchfield. What a find. Very rustic but great views of the lake, a beautiful pool and great food to boot. Our waiter from Surrey UK was such a delight with a welcoming smile and constantly attending to our needs without being OTT. We will definitely be back. I would love to hire one of the kayaks on the lake one day ~ simply stunning

We stayed here earlier this month on a road trip to Darwin, we wanted to visit Litchfield but stay away from the school holiday crowds/caravans etc and couldn't have been more pleased with this discovery, DeLago Resort is about 40 mins from Litchfield and is situated on Lake Bennet. The views are incredible, we stayed in the Lake View Cabins and they did not disappoint, a very comfortable room, balcony overlooking the water, large bathroom with plentiful hot water. After spending the day at Litchfield it was wonderful to return and enjoy a drink at the Lakeside Bar and watch the sunset, then head to the dining room for dinner. The meals were tasty and great value, I had the beef brisket one night which was amazing, and a steak sandwich the following night which I couldn't finish.. it was huge!! There was a great selection of wines ..lots from SA!! The staff were really friendly and helpful and gave us lots of tips for doing Litchfield. There was also an option to hire kayaks and paddle Lake Bennet but we ran out of time. We really enjoyed our stay!
