Happy Wanderer Motel Lake Boga on the Lake with Lake Views

The place is being renovated don’t let the exterior view turn you away. The rooms were modern, comfy, clean, overall a great stay. Area was quiet with a great view of the lake and I wish the owner all the best in continuing the renovations. It’s going to be a great place !

Chris the owner/manager great guy very helpful and accomodating. Some rooms being renovated but the completed ones are excellent well contained. Great location nice clean tidy rooms. Great price and location. Nice drive to Swan Hill. Will stay again.

New owners are doing this place up and so far it’s great! The beds are super comfy, linen was divine. Shower was very hot (though I think the shower head needs replacing). Room was lovely and clean. Owner was super friendly. The only downside (others may find it not that bad), walked outside in the morning to see the owners cat backed up to a guests car and peeing on it.

Lake Boga is a beautiful area and has great attractions like the Catalina Museum, new Silo Art and the lake itself. There's only one motel in town and it's an old hulk of a building, but thankfully the owners are in the process of renovating and refurbishing it to provide much needed accommodation in Lake Boga. When I arrived reception was closed and I had to call a mobile number and I was soon attended to and checked in directly (he said it wasn't worth opening up reception), which was a pity because it had been nicely refurbished and the adjoining dining area looked lovely through the glass. He was friendly and helpful though. The bedroom section of my room exceeded expectations, it was modern, well furnished and had a nice view of Lake Boga. The bathroom was ok, very clean and serviceable but dated. Personally, I think the room would look even better if the popcorn ceiling and bathroom windowsill and woodwork was painted white. The bed was very comfortable and had nice linen. I was told if I used any of the dishes to wash them in the bathroom sink, this doesn't seem that hygienic to me, as there are minimal dishes it would be better to put them through the dishwasher while the rooms are being serviced. Also, the mirror needs to be over the sink. The Happy Wanderer is definitely a work in progress, I noticed a lot of plants waiting to be planted. The motel has real potential and I thank the owners for breathing new life into an old motel (hopefully more owners will renovate and refurbish our old motels).
