The Nautical Beachfront Resort

Reasons I gave it 4 stars is the location, private boat launch and boat slips for guests to use and parking for truck & trailer. Otherwise it woulda been 3 stars. Like others have said, the rooms are a bit dated. They do try to spruce them up but dated nonetheless. Only has a smaller window AC unit to cool the room down. It does ok but when it’s 113 out that things screaming to try to cool the room. Rooms all face the lake and private beach for you to enjoy. If you have a boat, launch it at their private marina and store it in their slip free. You can’t go wrong with this hotel, just be prepared for the dated rooms. Maybe sone of the other rooms have been refreshed; mine hasn’t. Will I be back, probably so.

Wij boekten dit hotel op onze rondreis door de Westkust. We hebben er 1 nacht geslapen. Heel veel lawaai, harde muziek bij het zwembad. Hotelkamers zijn oud, airco luid. Het ligt wel mooi aan een meer waarin we heerlijk hebben gezwommen. Maar het feestgehalte van de gasten en het harde lawaai maakt het voor gezinnen echt niet zo geschikt. Personeel vriendelijk overigens, inchecken bij de receptie aan het einde vande midag duurde heel lang, we hebben een half uur staan wachten.

The best thing about this place is the location—right next to the lake, which is absolutely beautiful. However, I would give less than one star just because of the front desk staff. Our experience with them completely ruined our stay. We drove five hours to get there. I knew check-in was at 4 PM, but we arrived around 12 PM just to see if the room might be ready early. I politely asked the front desk attendant, and she said, “Checking is at 4 pm, we dont give rooms until 4 pm” I then asked if we could do some kayaking while we waited and if she could give us directions. She simply pointed to the right and said, “Yeah, you can go that way.” Very helpful... We ended up driving to a spot that may not have even allowed access, but that’s what we understood from her vague gesture. We came back around 4:20 PM to check in. There was a line of about six people, and it took us 20–30 minutes just to get to the front. One older man was working alone at the desk, slowly assisting guests, going back and forth between the copier and various desks. To make the process smoother, they should have everything ready in advance. Eventually, a new staff member showed up and began asking if anyone had received a text message. She didn’t explain what kind of text. I mentioned that I received two messages from Nautica, but they were only advertisements about tiki tours, restaurants, and housekeeping—nothing about check-in.when it was our turn I told her I had received a text and she began to assist us, but then told us we had to wait for the other guy because we weren’t on the check-in list. She was rude, even though she was clearly still in training. At that point, we were already frustrated. When the older man finally got to us, we told him we had received texts (not the ones they were referring to). My boyfriend was understandably raising his voice out of frustration, and instead of trying to calm the situation, the staff member told us to calm down or he would cancel our reservation. Really? After a 5-hour drive, in the heat, with a long wait? To make things worse, at 4:40 PM, he mentioned in the end of our check in that our room still wasn’t ready. We had come by earlier, and they told us check-in was at 4 PM. When we mentioned we’d been there since noon, the staff said the girl at the front desk should have given us a form to begin the check-in process, but she never did. Eventually, the man changed our room to one that was ready. The hotel is in a stunning location by the lake, but the staff is the worst I’ve ever encountered. They don’t care about guests, they don’t seem to enjoy their jobs, they never smiled, and they made no effort to make us feel welcome or comfortable. I will definitely be staying somewhere else next time. Probably more staff is needed in housekeeping as well. Staff in general need a lot of training, you can't just rely on the location to grow as a hotel.

Nice resort Great little resort. Nice pool and good drinks. Room was large but a little dated. But was clean and comfortable.

Great property on water. Had lots of fun.
