"Located in Leigh Village, a standard express hotel. Bars, restaurants and supermarkets are also available next to the hotel. It is a hassle-free business trip."
"What time is good: the room is clean, the bed is very comfortable, the breakfast is very good at your own expense, and the location is convenient near the train station.
A lot of bad things:
1. Very noisy! Every night, I can immerse myself in hearing the people downstairs drinking and chatting and shooting the table until 12 o'clock in the evening! ! Close to the street, the car is also very noisy. Why can't the hotel give us a higher and quiet room without guests? I still wake up with earplugs at night.
2. The staff basically did not see it, and the staff was not there every time they passed the front desk. When I checked in, I didn't tell us where the breakfast was.
3. The first night was booked directly with the hotel, and the second night was Trip.com. When I checked in, my brother said that the room type for two nights was different, but they had no other guests staying the next day and should be able to leave us in the room for the first night. The next day when we went to confirm, they also said at first that we should be able to continue to live in today's room. The result made us wait for ten minutes and then said that we had to pay 20 pounds to continue to live in the previous room.
4. The hotel does not have a bathtub, the price is a four- or five-star hotel, the price is relatively low
In short, I feel that the hotel cares more about running their restaurant and bar and adopts a waiver policy for the guest rooms."
"After an exceptional stay at the Wigan Holiday Inn Express on September 20th, 2024, I didn’t expect such a stark contrast in service at another location within the same hotel group the very next day (September 21st, 2024).
This time, we experienced a completely different attitude at the front desk—rudeness and dismissiveness. Despite multiple requests for assistance, such as having my room closer to my friend’s, an hour late check-out (which my friend was granted), and fixing the issue with my room’s air conditioning (my friend’s room was fine), we were met with vague, unhelpful explanations that treating a fool. It felt like dealing with political officials dodging direct answers.
For the first time ever, I left a hotel feeling genuinely angry. They might be better suited for a career in politics."

"I'm a regular stayer...all staff no me...but this time there was a lady...eho was asking me to pay again....when I already paid via trip.com... there were other customers waiting...she had no idea of data protection...she said. The price of how much I paid online and she said room number out loud...haha..."
"We arrived at the hotel after 10pm having drove from London, it was my seven year old daughter and I. On check in we weren’t given any sort of induction and just given our room key. Our room was spacious, but had a few carpet stains and smelled musty. We had asked for a quiet room but was placed next to a conference room on a main thoroughfare. We also had a courtyard at the back of our room with people drinking and smoking of an evening. We had to ask for a pass for the pool which wasn’t provided at check in. Breakfast was okay but not as good as The Holiday Inn and other than Tony the staff were miserable. On checking out I spoke to the manager about the noisey room and he offered a free nights stay. I worked at the hotel 1998-2001 and it has been upgraded since and is fairly nice. However noisey rooms is the main issue."
"Excellent stay and much improved with the refurb. Staff were excellent too, definitely up to the standard we've come.to expect from Marriot Hotels.
Room was nice and comfortable, great pool , sauna, gym and the location is quiet. Great coffee too, worth a mention. Will definitely stay again"
