I rarely write reviews, but this experience needs to be shared: avoid Art Hotel City Leipzig. The room was nothing like what was advertised. It was described as an 18 m² “comfort double” with a seating area and desk, but in reality, it felt like a converted storage room. The desk and chair were crammed against the bed, with no real space to sit or work. The “courtyard view” was just the back of another apartment building. Even the bedding was too small for the bed. But worse than the room was how I was treated. Receptionist E. Schultz was openly hostile. When I politely raised concerns about the room, she immediately escalated the conversation and called me a liar to my face. It was shocking. I’ve never encountered someone in hospitality who seemed to enjoy making a guest feel unwelcome. The manager, Lucas, was no better — dismissive, cold, and completely uninterested in helping. To be fair, the receptionist who checked me in the day before was kind and empathetic. She acknowledged the issues and said the manager would help resolve them the next day. That promise was completely ignored. If you want a sense of what kind of people run this place, just look at their responses to other negative reviews. They’re consistently defensive and contemptuous. They don’t take responsibility — they blame the guests. That alone should tell you what to expect. There are better options in Leipzig. Don’t make the mistake I did.
