The Inn

Giving this hotel a 1, is simply too much. I WOULD NOT advise any one to stay here. I recently attempted to stay here because it was late and all other hotels in the area were booked. After going into the hotel room, witnessing the smell and the environment we decided we could not stay there. I then went to the receptionist and told her my concerns to which I was told "I do not blame you, I have worked here for __ months and have yet to walk into one of the rooms". Great, she refunded me our money=no issue and we were out within a half hour. (If this was the end of the story this post would not exist and either would my perception on American Inn) After checking our credit card statement we saw the charge for the room, a refund for the room, and then a $228.89 charge. We had not received a phone call about being charged for ANYTHING for any reason so we called the hotel to ask what it was regarding. We were told that we stole the TV from the room, so we were being charged to replace it. Of course we told the manager, that we did not steal the TV and we would like our money back. He refused, told us they have had a problem with the TV being stolen from that same room in the past (this was our first time in the establishment). If this hotel had been having issues with theft previous to us coming there, measures should have been taken to avoid or monitor this. They should not be falsely accusing their guests. There was also a security guard monitoring the facility while we were there, who should have witness somebody taking the TV. Which brings up a safety issue at this hotel as well. The moral of the story is one of the facility placed a fraudulent charge on our card. It worries me that this is a reoccurring thing they do to guests, it is not safe doing business with this hotel for several reasons. Unless of course you enjoy handing your money over to crooks.

I hope that other weary travelers can avoid what I dealt with. Room 1 had stains on the sheets. Room 2 has a hole in the wall from the door handle, smoke smells, and a bug, of which I took pictures of, and requested a refund when I checked out. In speaking with the manager, I was not granted that as I stayed in the room for a few hours. I would unequivocally NOT recommend staying at this property. I needed a break from driving many hours, and now know that staying in my car would have been a better option. There are many other choices for consumers in this area, and many reviews from this property indicate to search those other options.
