Villa Neri Resort and Spa

We checked into this hotel for six nights on our honeymoon in Sicily in July 2024. Whilst the general condition of the hotel lobby and bedrooms were okay, the safety of the pool area and the hospitality is the worst I’ve ever experienced. On our first day our 11 year old son who was with us, jumped into the pool and accidentally landed on the step causing a severe cut to his shin. There were no staff around and we were searching the unattended mini bar by the pool in an attempt to find some ice for his leg. Some 7 months later, he still has a sever gash to his shin. At breakfast the chef was nowhere to be seen and the one and only waitress had to go looking for him to make some eggs. The selection and quality of the food was beyond poor. The hotel felt like the Marie Celeste there was one receptionist one waitress and they were doing the job of everybody concerned. Feeling highly unsatisfied with our stay and the service we were receiving, we opted to check out two nights early. The management agreed and verified in an email that they would refund us for one of these nights as a goodwill gesture via bank transfer. I provided my bank details and on return to the UK, I followed up this refund only to be told that they would not be refunding our money and they did not care - completely reigning on the agreement and the trust that we placed in them. I’m now in pursuit of this refund via our credit card company but I urge you to stay away from such a dishonest hotel which has seen better days. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Lovely stay and great food.

Lovely hotel but not luxury service Overall a lovely hotel and setting but a few things which let the hotel down. We have stayed in around 30 SLHs, and small things here which overall let down the "luxury" status. At breakfast you pay extra if you want omelette, fried egg or a vegetable juice for example... we had booked the restaurant for one evening prior to our stay (we went out the other night) but they failed to tell us they had an event on so we were unable to actually eat in the restaurant and got put in the breakfast room (we would happily have chosen to eat at the hotel restaurant another night instead had they told us this way the case). Wellness area was lovely, but i had a massage there which consisted of being rubbed very quickly rather than actually massaged (bit odd), and as i was pregnant they sat me up rather than putting me on my side which was less comfortable. Finally upon leaving i had left a bag of bottles and toiletries separately to our suitcase which had clearly been flung on the floor in the storage room smashing 2 glass bottles and ruining a lot of my belongings. Gorgeous pool area, very relaxing area, lovely clean hotel and nice toiletries.. a shame that these things let down our stay.

Posto sperduto e per di più fanno tutti i sofisticati manco fosse un hotel al centro di catania, siamo stati l'anno scorso per il percorso benessere niente di tanto eccezionale ma la cosa che da più fastidio è che non rispondono al telefono mai, sicuramente non torneremo.

Bel hôtel perdu dans la montagne sur la route de l'Etna. La bâtisse de l'hôtel est certainement une ancienne demeure rénovée (un peu trop) à laquelle un bâtiment a été ajouté. Le hall est plutôt froid avec un petit bar. La chambre (Junior suite) est jolie, sobre, très bien équipée (Nespresso, vin, eau, mignardises) avec une magnifique baignoire. La piscine extérieure (non chauffée) est grande avec de jolis oliviers et quelques transats. Le spa propose des soins et possède un hammam, un sauna et une petite piscine avec des jets hydromassants. Attention toute fois le spa étant très petit il faut réserver un créneau pour y avoir accès. Le restaurant de l'hôtel est gastro donc les prix sont assez élevés mais la qualité de la cuisine vaut le coup. Optez pour la formule demi-pension qui permet pour 75€ par personne d'avoir 4 plats et un dessert. Comptez donc environ 100€ par personne pour dîner. L'équipe du restaurant est très sympa. Juste un bémol, le dernier soir, il y avait un Groupe d'une dizaine de personne qui dînaient dans le restaurant, venus avec leur guitariste et leur chanteur, au bout d'une heure tout le monde s'est mis à danser, chanter etc ce qui n'est pas concevable lorsque des dizaines de personnes à côté dinent en tête à tête, l'hôtel dispose de salle annexe où ce genre de Groupe aurait dû être installé. Donc pour conclure si vous bookez cet hôtel (comme nous) dans le cadre d'une offre promotionnel allez y le rapport qualité/prix est bon, par contre sinon cela ne vaut pas le prix. il s'agit plus d'un 4* que d'un 5* alors que les prix sont largement ceux d'un 5*.
