The Moorcock Inn

We had such a lovely stay here. From the moment we arrived, Dan and Emma welcomed us with smiles and made us feel right at home. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and had plenty of space, even enough storage for a three‑week stay which was perfect for us. Karen looked after us most mornings and she honestly made our stay even better—always friendly, helpful, and happy to chat. She went beyond her job description by helping with anything needed. She’s a real asset to the place. We ate at the restaurant several times and the food was always excellent. The staff were attentive, cheerful, and nothing was too much trouble. Thursday’s quiz night was great fun, and the little supper included was a nice touch. Overall, we had a brilliant time and we’d definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Littleborough.

Lucky to have lovely day to appreciate the fabulous location. I had a Whale and chips ( fish and chips). Nothing at all to moan about. Peas cooked to perfection chips nice and chunky. Fish was beautiful white and flaky the batter was all crispy no soggy batter at all. Alan had the rag pudding it he said it was beautiful. Tender beef and very tasty. 2 Kids had the chicken 1 had pasta. The plates were empty. So no complaints there as well Sorry forgot to take photos

Thought we would try the Moorcock for tea with the family for the first time since the new owners took over. Having read the menu with all the fancy names and descriptions for the meals, the food was very disappointing amd bland, stated beef dripping chips, amd these were not fried in beef dripping. And to top it all off had to listen to 8 or so lads swearing and getting drunk in front of two young children, and then watch them get in cars and speed off. . Won't be going back

went for a meal start of the year here and was fantastic so decided to take my family (5) first waited about 20mins before we got asked if we would like a drink. we then ordered starters 4 turned up after a average wait but 1 didnt trying to get the attention to let them know finally got attention then took 10 mins to receive. 4 good my soup was i think potato and the chef had placed a green juice skirted over the top the soup was of very poor quality and the green taste was vile left all after 2 spoon fulls even my son thought it was awful did'nt complain but when they decided to empty table this full bowl of soup waitress did'nt even ask was it okay. Then Mains ordered steak well done with peppercorn sauce as i don't like my meat with blood it came and all the others but no peppercorn sauce told the waiter then waited 10 mins to turn up when i cut into my steak it was bloody so another poor request and at the end got a bill for over £150 we had to leave more food that we ate as the quality of others was not great standard.

Average Average stay, substantial hotel yet food not available after 19:45! So we had to go out for dinner. Room was ok, small double bed. Bathroom refurbished with a tiny narrow sink making it difficult to brush teeth & wash hands.

New owners and a new vibe. We enjoyed having a few drinks in the bar area and then dining in the restaurant, the food was fabulous. The service from Luke and Lilly and the chat with the Chef Reece enanced our visit, we had a great time. Summer time on the outside decking sounds great.. BBQ, Bar and live music with stunning views. It's well worth a visit.
