Astra Village Hotel Suites

The hotel is about 5 minutes taxi ride from the airport making it really convenient. The rooms are clean with everything you need. The pool is great and the sun loungers very comfortable. You can watch incoming planes landing from the pool. People tend to put their towels down before the pool opens, which can be frustrating and means waiting for a lounger if you don’t do that - Tip: if going in July (it was 33 degrees) go to the beach first and then the pool around 4/5pm and you’ll get a lounger and quieter pool. Hotel is within walking distance of both Ammes and Ai Helis beaches which are immaculate. The water is clean and clear. We would definitely return.

Can I just say -when I booked this hotel it was because it was close to the airport and it was family run and smaller - when we got there unfortunately easyJet hadn't said that we needed a room close -to the pool and the restaurant bit - they went above and beyond to help us - and I was so grateful for that - the staff were all so helpful and nothing was never to much trouble - I needed a break from the mental strain , and here I got that - it was so peaceful and quiet and I could of stayed longer - I had no issues with food and it was all fine for us , we have a running joke of guess the waiters accent as well - also the cats are so cute - I know not everyone loves them , but when a guest kicked one in the face after being rude already - so don't believe every review that is on here - we will definitely be back again . Ps I loved watching the planes take off and land - and also this place was so clean and tidy - I don't have a bad thing to say to be honest .

We stayed for 7 days. Very handy for the airport, really no need to get a taxi as the transfer is literally minutes on the jet2 bus, which we usually avoid, so that’s a plus. Hotel is spotless, we were in block 9, which is at the bottom of the grounds. So, this meant an uphill walk every time we went for meals & to the pool. If you have sore joints, or knee replacement, like me, & metal in any of your lower body, like me, then it’s torture. I can’t imagine doing it when it’s searingly hot 🥵. I struggled in the early 20 degrees, bearing in mind I go to the gym 3 times a week! & I found the “hill” very painful to walk up each time. It says wheelchair friendly, it’s not, it’s too steep. Breakfast was ok, evening meals were dire, frankly we will eat almost anything, but we found the choices limited & lacking in imagination. Drinks were ok, snack bar was ok too. The rooms were comfy & bathrooms are quite modern, although the floor gets soaked if you have a good old shower. We had to use the handheld shower to avoid soaking the entire place. It’s very quiet around the hotel, absolutely nothing for older children to do, unless they want to play pool in bar area or table tennis next to the spa, which we didn’t try. The pool is too deep for young children. Personally I’d say it’s more an adult place than a family hotel. We had a lovely quiet holiday, hired a car for 3 days & had a few drives out when the weather was very very windy.
