Monachyle Mhor Hotel

Our 40th birthdays spent in MM in the Corr Cabin was just perfect! The best bits - the cosy bar, open fires, drinks to die for, food from field to plate (literally), super attentive staff and a guest appearance from Tom. The cabin is so special, waking up to those spectacular views x

Na 5 mijl over een smal weggetje te hebben gereden, bereik je dit idyllisch gelegen hotel met uitzicht op het meer. Zeer vriendelijk personeel, zowel aan de balie als in het restaurant. We genoten 3 dagen op rij van een overheerlijk degustatiemenu met aangepaste wijnen, met vanuit het restaurant mooi zicht op het meer. Beide sommeliers boden ons zeer verrassende wijnen aan, van heel verscheidene origine, met boeiende uitleg. De gerechten waren telkens een streling voor het oog en een vertroeteling van onze smaakpapillen! Mooie kamers met luxueuze badkamer. Onze matras mocht wel iets minder zacht zijn… Ook het ontbijt was van hogere kwaliteit. Op vraag kon een lekker lunchpakket besteld worden. Voor de geïnteresseerden was er de mogelijkheid tot gebruik van een sauna aan de rand van het meer. Een fantastische manier om de indrukwekkende Schotse natuur te verkennen! Uiteraard heeft deze kwaliteit zijn prijskaartje…

A regular visit whenever we go to Scotland. The food is always exceptional and the service has always been first class. Fantastic setting with the chance of spying some rare and interesting wildlife.

We stayed for two nights in the Corr cabin at Monachyle Mohr and had a wonderful time. The view from the cabin was incredible and we felt like we had full privacy from the rest of the accommodation. The cabin itself is well kitted out and the space is used very efficiently. We went down to the bar on the first night and had some amazing cocktails as well as a fantastic charcuterie and cheese board which the receptionist recommended to us. We ate in the restaurant on the second night and found the food to be fantastic, with the staff very friendly and attentive. The only downside was that we had booked the lochside sauna experience which had to be cancelled, however we were given plenty of notice about this and a full refund. We'd definitely recommend and would be happy to return.

Pleasant but not quite up to the standard you would expect at this price point. We stayed in the ‘treehouse’ which was novel but really quite cramped and uncomfortable. We also hired the bbq hut which despite its name wasn’t really suitable to BBQ in. Couldn’t fault the breakfast or the setting. Weather being perfect also helped. There are probably better ways to spend £400 on a night away in this part of the world.

Visited with friends on a DB&B deal. Friends had been before and highly rated the establishment. Location is very picturesque. Room was comfortable; lock didn’t lock from outside with the key; tv had very confusing channel set up; room lighting could have been more flexible; would be very easy to hit your head on the glass shelf above the sink. Before dinner, went into lounge; were given drinks menu and wine list. Had to chase to place drinks order; and had to ask for menu to decide on wine choice. No one came to get second drinks order nor to take food order. We were told to place food order at table; so we went to table. Menu was limited and phrased in language I had some difficulty understanding. Portions for all courses were very small; and there seemed to be no way to add “sides” if you were hungry. Several of us including myself had the venison; it was very disappointing - chewy. The wine was good. At the end of the meal, we had to sign for wine and drinks as they were not part of the “deal”. We noticed that a gratuity of 12.5% had been added not just to what we were signing for, but the whole deal. Inappropriate timing. We were not offered coffee, but were given an unusual infusion of a sort of lemon tea. No digestivs offered. Next morning, we came down for breakfast. I asked for two poached eggs, firm yolks and crispy bacon. The bacon was incinerated and the plate had some form of grease pooling from the bacon. The egg yolks were firm but somehow they lacked flavour. The female staff were very pleasant and helpful, charming. The male staff did not seem suited to their roles.
