"There are about 254 sites & we were given #104, which faced directly onto an unused dilapidated amenities block. Seriously disappointed with this when there were a multitude of other sites. The pool was clean & well used. There is no shade at this park, some small trees which will take years to grow. The female amenities block had what seemed to be a long term leak with water running across the basin area. Toilets & shower stalls could do with a good clean, although there were lots of them. Camp kitchen was large & well stocked. The brolgas, which roam about the park, were annoying at breakfast time & we went into our van to eat to avoid them. Next time, I'll most likely try one of the other van parks."

"Beds were clean and comfortable and good to have a 2 bedroom house but overall our stay was very disappointing. There are 4 houses, all are covered from top to bottom in cobwebs, the floor in ours, number 3 was dirty, the sofa was dirty, no laundry detergent, only "napisan", only one tea bag, one milk was already open, some pillows had no pillow case, towels were stained, windows hadn't been cleaned in months, only 3 coat hangers in each bedroom, inadequate pots and pans, the fan heater didn't work, a few mini tube body wash, shampoo etc provided but larger pump packs are easier to use and better for the environment."

The Staging Post ★★

"We have had a wonderful experience in Outback Queensland, but sadly the only disappointment of our road trip through Roma, Charleville, Winton and Longreach was The Staging Post. We chose this property for location in the heart of town. The aircon was a necessity as the room was very cold, but the roaring noise was unbearable in the room and could not sleep, when turned off, we could hear the next door neighbours air cons. The carparking is limited and we had to park the car on the street, and after 6.30pm there is no access through the reception to the front, guests need to use the back lane. The brightness in the room at night is also a factor in not being able to sleep, with outside lights and flimsy curtain/ screens, not to mention a mattress that needs replacing with a blanket that was army issue (heavy and scratchy). Our room was located beside the service access lane and laundry, so it was very noisy early morning and late at night with contractors/staff coming and going. Reception satff seemed more interested in selling tour tickets than looking after their house guests. Our accommodation experience at The Staging Post was the only negative in a very positive week in OQ."

"I was told I was rude from the reception girl because I wasnt happy they had no map of were the the rooms n facilities were There were no signs to know where to go as the reception is across the rd .Just a complete shambles It was budget accommodation the room was only just acceptable but the community showers n kitchen were disgusting the health dept need to shut this down rats poo in the BBQ n the sinks filthy showers were grubby don't bother."
