Portbyhan Hotel

The Portbyhan Hotel is amazing. We went with a coach party. Normally in hotels coach parties are second class citizens - not here! We were treated as very important guests. All the staff were exceptionally efficient and friendly. The food was superb. We had a room with a balcony which enabled us to watch all the fishing boats and other interesting happenings. The room was very modern with an excellent walk in shower. Breakfasts were very good indeed with high quality ingredients. As a coach party we preordered the evening meal each day. One item was always fish from the market opposite the hotel where half a dozen fishing boats landed their catch - ultra fresh and beautifully cooked. Thank you Portbyhan!

Five nights at the hotel gave us the opportunity to experience the resort and all the hotel had to offer. Room, with view of the ever changing river, was comfortable and two easy chairs enabled relaxation. Usually woken by noisy seagulls but then - this is seaside……….. Meals well organised, with varied choices providing a good standard for our tastes. All our staff contacts were positive. Friendly and helpful throughout. No hesitation in recommending.

My wife and I fell in love with Looe when we first went there and knew this was where we wanted to have our wedding ceremony. All of the staff are extremely friendly and helpful and a special mention has to go to Lindsey, the manager, who guided us through the whole process. They went above and beyond, everything went to plan, the food was amazing, the service top rate, the accommodation first class and the location outstanding. Not a bad word to say about the place - made our special occasion truly magical. We cannot wait for our next stay.

I’ve had the pleasure of staying at The Portbyhan Hotel for five day’s now and I think there are many hotels that could learn so much from the staff and management of this hotel. The food is so enjoyable and fresh, especially the fish. My room was very comfortable along with the bed. Nothing seems to be too much trouble to the staff, from local knowledge to the efficiency of the hotel. Thank you for a wonderful few days.

Comfortable room with balcony overlooking harbour. Excellent location, good value., quality dining. Exceptional service from the entire team, energetic, efficient and friendly, making the short break special. Particular praise and appreciation for Sharon, a "jewel in the crown"

Just come back from a lovely stay here. Hotel staff made you feel very welcome, they were all very professional and friendly. Lovely sun terrace Breackfast was lovely. Rooms clean and tidy. Great location with even better views, would definatly recommend.
